I have to assume I forgot to lock mine as there was no damage done to doors. They took a few things nothing bad, worst part was they took my girlfriend's smart key for her CRV. Thats gonna be over $1k to get fixed . . . Lucky they didn't take and rifles as I used to keep one behind the rear seats. Anyone know of that company that makes the locking behind seat storage?

    Main question.

Is there anyway to have the taco lock whenever I close the doors? I dont have a smart key. Just keyless entry. I would gladly rather lock my key in car and use toyotacare than have someone get in my taco again . . .

    Thanks in advance.

Same thing happened to me......I think I forgot to lock it and they must of checked the handles and got in. I HATE thieves. Would be interested in knowing if there was a way to auto lock too.

There are devices out there that can hack/mimic your key. So you may have locked your truck. We had a problem with audi's around here for bit. Try keeping your key/remote/sensor in a faraday cage/pouch.

Well you could do what did the other day and lock the doors before getting fully out of the car, just the door open. Just don't mindlessly set the keys down in the other seat and lock yourself out with the keys in the car. :) I can't remember if there is an option for that in the system settings. I know there's one if you push the unlock button but don't open the door for a certain amount of seconds it locks automatically.

Talking to my LE buddy. Thats what he was saying. Since its a remote entry garage lots of cars crammed in small space so someone could just sit in dark corner and collect as much info as they can. . .

Why do you need to carry a rifle?

You wouldn't expect it seeing as how much my rent is lol. Sadly $2400 is a good deal for a 1,000 sqft 2 bedroom.

I keep firearms in vehicle for a few hours so I don't have to haul them up to apt. just to haul them back down if I am going to the range or out shooting . . . I live in Hollywood. If people saw me carry pelican cases in and out of my appt and "discreet" rifle cases they would call the FBI on me lol.

Lol, I know right! Unfortunately this city has seriously gone to shit in the past few years. My 07 was stolen just over a 1 1/2 ago from my driveway. I understand. You may want to think about a dash cam or maybe a web cam near your parking spot. See if it happens again.

Im just pissed as some criminal has my girlfriend's car key and Honda has to order new parts so it will just be sitting there. Best I can do is block it in when I get home and put a club on it . . . Maybe ill just wait in her car with my rifle. Think a m1a is overkill?

Yet another reason why leaving guns in vehicles is a bad idea.

People who have a rifle based "truck gun", can anyone give me a legitimate reason to carry one? Esp behind the seats where you probably have to move some stuff to get to it. Not trying to hijack or start anything, I am genuinely curious.

I am just thinking about gunfighting 101 and how almost every engagement is reactionary and "danger close" for the average citizen. Maybe if you went on a camping trip with it, but daily? Trying to think of a scenario to pull it out that doesn't get you sent to prison, especially in the LA area.

I used to live in Torrance and work in Compon by the way. Believe me, I get it.
