Can you fit larger tires on a 06 Camry?

Besides a Taco, I have a 2006 Camry. Im curious as to if you can fit a larger tire on there, and if you can, whats the largest? Right now there are 215/65/15r on there. I know like on a Tacoma, you get into the tire hitting the UCA if you go too large. I dont know if thats the same on a Camry or not. Hopefully you guys can help me out a little bit.

Using the old tire sizing you could go 225/55......... that is it.... I dont know the new tire size guide that well though...

its actually my wifes car, and she complains about it being really low to the ground and how it would be easier to get in and out if it sat a little higher up. so i thought if i threw a larger tire on there, it would sit a little higher up

 

i didnt think people on here would have dubs on a camry......but i guess it can be done!

 

The only way to get the car higher is to go with a larger (after market rim-16-18) Anything bigger will look getto..

If you put 225/55/15 tires on the car, it would lower the car, not make it higher.

The 225 is the width, the 55 is the sidewall - the 55 sidewall is a lower profile tire and will lower the car a bit.

Just buy the wife a 4runner, she'll love it!!

You are not going to make a noticeable difference in height without going hugely larger... large enough to have clearance issues, serious speedometer calibration problems, and a big loss of fuel economy, not to mention a major performance loss and stress on the trans.



Buy her a Highlander.
