Manual transmission, but I've heard that some engines can't be push started. Anyone know on a Gen2 Tacoma?

Edit to add: Yeah, I'm pretty sure there's something in the manual about not push-starting it or you'll cause all sorts of bad things to happen. Question stands.

I have a 2010 5 speed 4x4 manual...I've "push started" it a bunch of times...I park on a hill at work...release the brake, coast, pop the clutch and off I go...

100% you can push start any modern manual car. Key on, let clutch out in 2nd or higher gear, ready with throttle.

Only thing that will stop it is a shorted battery with dead cells.

    Stock for now.. maybe
I find that its easier (easier on transmission as well) to push start in second gear if you can get it going fast enough. I have a 2015 v6 manual, I haven't had to push start (on this vehicle but many times on others) but 1st gear is so low so either way I'd probably try 2nd gear before 1st. I know while driving I can get down to 2mph or less without stalling in 2nd
