Yeah, the Factory Heated Seats only came as part of the Premium and Tech Package which included the Sunroof.

Maybe it's a Canadian thing, but they are factory installed...

It's really user preference. I've been using mode 1 for highway driving at high speeds - I just found that cruise control works better with it at 1. For off-road driving today I used 1 also, but for around town anywhere between 2-9 is great. The better throttle response can get you out of a pickle, and also just makes the truck feel much faster

The Heated Seats are awesome, I guess that is a Canada only thing to make them standard equipment.

This sounds SO familiar. I reached the same point. I'm 6'1" and yes, as much as I loved the TRD OR I drove, it wasn't happening after I drove over a speed bump at 45mph and hit my head on the edge of the moonroof.

The sales person I had on the drive was pretty green, but apparently had a good handle on inventory... She said, "Hey, you know I think we have some sort of special edition (TRD Pro) coming in that doesn't have a sunroof, but has pretty much everything else this one has. It also has leather heated seats."

Long story short: I LOVE my TRD Pro with no sunroof, leather (heated) seats, and tech.
Wait until 2019 and you'll also get JBL audio (hold on, in the past that has been tied to a moonroof...I hope that isn't the case with the new TRD Pros)

Also, do yourself a HUGE favor and get a manual.

For what it is worth, first gear is a crawler, and second is hard to lug at very low RPMs. I've found traffic to be less bothersome than with any other manual I've ever driven. You should purposely test drive one at rush hour. It will surprise you.

When you're not in traffic, it will blow you away how much fun it is! This engine needs hands on control I think to really shine.

Overall height is not the only thing that matters, torso length plays into it. I'm also 5' 10" and I find it that I almost touch the roof. I have the sunroof model.

I agree the power is there. Toyota did this on purpose, it lets us pussy-foot it for higher MPGs yet go faster if we want to. It just takes changing your driving habit.

    Fyi. I've had a 2000 and 2012

The problem is that with low end power the driver has no say on whether he/she wants to gain mpg or not. I keep telling people...Toyota did this by design.

Not to come off rude but if you’re getting a truck, MPG should be your last concern honestly. Get a 4 cyl if MPG is an issue. The 3.5 is underpowered for the MPG it gets. I’d rather get 1-3 less MPG and have a better output without needing to hit it past 3kRPM all the time.

Tell me how you still feel again if we get back to $4 a gallon one day. The one reason why I don't have a Tundra is because of the MPGs. I can't justify it for my use.

The fact is that most people who have trucks don't need a truck. I will admit that I use mine as a truck maybe twice month. The rest of the time I'm just merging onto the interstate and the rpms at or above 3K works well for me.

Low end torque is fine and usefull in many scenarios....I am 38 and no longer drive like when I was in my 20s, nor do I tow...so I haven't needed it.
