Didn’t read the whole thread. And don’t have anything meaningful to contribute other than I loved my 1st gen, loved my 2nd gen. The 3rd gen didn’t move the needle to make me run out an buy one.
If it wasn’t for an unfortunate accident and it getting totaled, I’d probably still be driving it.
That said, now I love the 3rd gen even more than the first two.

On a side note, I don’t know wtf you guys did in here, but thank you for this:

Just here to call bullshit on your "just here to call bullshit".

Your Jiminy-Cricket lookin' m-f-in cousin sits in the back seat to drive.
I'm 6'1" and I'm quite certain I didn't imagine hitting my head on the got-dang moonroof going over a large speed bump at 45mph in a TRD OR. Shit happened.

Of course, my brother also call's me the "world's largest midget" (super short-ass legs, incredibly long torso). I told him it's "little person". He's kind of a dick.

I tow well over the stock capacity all the time. +7kish. Gets it going adequately. If I wanted to tow race, would’ve kept my 800hp 6.7 F250. Lol

I find it funny with the 2nd Gen and 3rd gen are almost exactly the same truck except for the engine and dashboard design yet you have so much hate for it. Sure the engine is a huge part and not perfect transmission but not sure how you classify it less truck. Dumbest statement of the year.

Last thing I thought of when buying the Blue Taco was towing, although it is good to know that in a pinch it would tow a pop up camper etc.

Talk to me in 12 years after you have a quarter million miles on your Gen 2 and plunk your ass behind the wheel of the Gen 3.
Then we'll talk about who the dumbass is.

Funny talk to me when your 2nd gen has a half million miles like my old first gen then we will talk. Point is Toyota has always been reliable. People always complain about something new. Same thing happened with 2nd Gen and will happen when the 4th Gen comes out.

    Nope, we're talking 2nd to 3rd....

I had a 1st Gen too and whatever they called them back in '93 (I think maybe just Toyota Pickup ?)
That too racked up close to 200K. Xtra cab, 4 cyl, 5 speed and locking hubs. But so what ?

How many miles have you put on a 3rd gen? 10? 20?

Exactly me too. Point being there all trucks and good trucks. I have no reason to doubt the 3rd gen will be any different or the 4th gen.

Well, I am back aren't I ? I know there is no other option for me.
Pity that I am going to have to "learn" to love it this time around, the others just felt right from the day I got behind the wheel.

Maybe you have a defective truck. I only have 4000 on mine and it works fine. Like it way more then my 2nd and 1st. Is the transmission perfect no but it’s not terrible at least for me.

Time will tell.... I don't think this truck is up to all my 2nd generation did for me. My '93 was a tough little bird too.

Of course there is no comparison as far a creature comforts go, especially compared to G1 but I don't think this new truck would do the work the other 3 before it did.
Plowing snow will not be one of her best tricks I'm sure but hopefully I won't have to find out and I only pray it will be able to comfortably tow me and my trailer to greener pastures as the seasons change.

Buyers remorse only affects the buyer.

If rotten apple is the difference between a meal or no meal, it's entirely your choice and no need to complain about it.

Always purchase within your expectations. Anything that does not meet your expectations is on you for purchasing it anyways.
