In comparison to a 2nd gen. I had a 2014 taco and sold it. 3rd gen is quicker once moving than the 2nd by far.
I'm telling you once that rpm is up you have almost 20% extra hp over 2nd gen and you feel it. It's quite fun.

It goes faster than the F150 5.0. Well, you know, there is a 96mph governor on the F150.

Off the line but after a couple of seconds its a different story.
3rd gen comes roaring up fast. That's why its faster than 2nd on the highway and general driving. If you want off the line only, then go 2nd.

Know I'm not buying a supercar. Just needing adequate power.

6' 3" here. Lean the seat back a notch, no issues here.

If you can’t sell yourself on a 3rd gen then there’s no point. You’ll end up hating it sooner than later. You’re better off with your 2nd gen or looking at a full size truck.

Not sure how you feel cramped in a 3rd gen but not your 2nd gen?? It’s pretty much the same interior set up just different design. I’m 6’1 and feels exactly like the my 2nd gen.

I’d rather have low end power than high end. I’m not going to be hammering it everywhere. Regardless, still love my 3rd gen because I baby it:turtleride:

The cramped feeling is in the one with a sunroof.

It’s the same cab as the 2nd gen as far as I know.

Exactly, I seen the Blue Taco out on the curb at the local Ford dealer and I had to have it. That is how love works. If I could sell something like that I would be a wealthy man.

So you take off for 2 seconds and drive around for an hour on the interstate. Got it. :crapstorm:
You don't need to hammer it, its still faster.
Power is there if you need it. I'd rather have that.
It's not like its night and day difference anyway.
3rd gen beats 2nd gen in gauntlet tow by a whopping 45 seconds ! That's ridiculous. So much for that low end power.

Also I feel like a lot of people aren't used to the Drive by wire gas pedal in new vehicles. It takes some getting used to. You can move the pedal quite a bit slowly with no change in rpm. That being said, I can break em loose going up hill from a roll. Power is there, it is just in a different form.

Power is most definitely sluggish. Compared to my dads 12’ and we’re both running 275/70/17 on the same lift. Definitely a noticeable difference, ESPECIALLY when it comes to towing or driving up steep hills. But like I said, love my 3rd gen and didn’t get it for speed, it’s my baby:plane:

Heh, heh, heh.... funny guy you !
Don't mislead this poor guy will ya ?

Look, the Gen 3 is not and never will be a Gen 2.
More creature comforts, but less truck all the way around.

It is what it is and it's all it's ever gonna be for the next 10 years, so get used to it.
Need or want a new truck ? Ain't much else out there for me but I think I should have made more of an effort to find a pristine low mileage '15 and paid the premium for a 3 year old truck.

Anyone have one and want to trade for a '17 TRD 4X4 Sport ? :anonymous:
