    This is what he wrote:

"So we went out for a test drive in the 18 without a sunroof. I'm hoping someone can ease my concerns on the transmission after the TSB. The truck I was driving had 12 miles on it, so no learning yet. I hear the shifting will get better, I'm hoping it gets a lot better."

Where do you suppose he got that from??
    But I digress, moving on

Owned a 2011 SR5 ACLB AT 4x4. Loved how it drove. Didn't like how it towed. Put 113,000 miles on it and got an unsolicited trade offer of $15,750. It was paid off and had no real intention of trading it in but figured I couldn't say no to the money.

Drove a 2017 DCSB OR AT. Didn't like how it drove, assumed I wouldn't like how it towed either. (Driving a vehicle long distances at 50% of red line concerns me.)

If it hadn't been for the MT, I would have given up on Toyota which I really didn't want to do.

Sounds like you're painted into a corner, but you still have your 2nd gen!

I just picked up my '18 on Tuesday in AZ. Currenty driving it back to Charlotte NC. I've put nearly 1,700 miles on it since I picked it up 4 days ago. Let me tell you, this is the best vehicle I've ever owned and driven. I came out of an '08 Tacoma and I own supercars and high end SUVs. This thing was odd at first, the MPG was all over the place (crappy) and the shifting was terrible on the highway. Over the last 4 days the truck has literally learned how I drive and has adapted in every way. I took it offroading today, pretty hardcore rock climbing at times, and this thing killed it. I felt like I was a pro driver and I'm really only a noob. Crawl mode is so sick its not even funny. I bought an 18 TRD Offroad 4x4. The tech package has made the driving across country super easy. I literally set the speed on cruise control, set the distance I want to stay behind cars in front of me, then I only use the wheel to keep it going in a straight line. It accelerates and brakes for me the entire time. I also love the sunroof and the sound system. I'm fairly certain they upgraded the sound in the '18 because its incredible and I'm not doing a darn thing to it. Buy one and never look back, you'll be happy you did.

Exactly, my Powertrain is a carryover from the 2nd gen. But I have the nicer bits of the 3rd gen. Not sure how that makes it inferior.

    Grab 2 and catch up
