    Looks like a microphone for a hands free device. Have you follow the wire to see where it goes behind the dash??

    Looks like some sort of microphone. If you blowup the pic you can see several holes in it.

    If that's what it is.....I have no idea why it would be located there

    Don't put it past the techs to start using this stuff. 10yrs ago who would've ever thought they'd start using muffler fluid? Urea at that...:rofl::rofl::rofl:

    Dealer installed Blutooth Mic in a horrible location. Should be on the top of the a pillar by the wind shield. Lazy ass tech couldn't even do it right.

    Aesthetically, it looks like dogshit, but that is probably a more functional area to mount a mic that anywhere else. Not affected by wind noise, and is basically in direct line with your voice if you're looking at the road.

    With that said, I installed mine on top of the A pillar, as it was the best balance between ease of install, aesthetics and effective location.
