It looks like fairly well equipped 2016 DCSB and DCLB trucks will be in the $34-$39K before delivery charges. So in all likelyhood in Canada we will see the truck in the $40K range. Does anyone else think that's crazy for a midsized truck before taxes? I got a fairly good deal on my Tacoma that put me in the mid 30's after taxes with an MSRP around $36.9K, I couldn't see myself spending much more for the truck I ended up with...

Ouch. I'll try to find the sticker from my truck but even with taxes I don't think paying MSRP would of got me to $42K. 13% PST in that right? I could see the MSRP price of the Tacoma being there now sadly, before taxes and fees.

My 2015 all taxes in DCLB was mid 30s. If it was above 40 I wouldn't have walked onto the lot.

Then again I was shown a DCLB all optioned out with Tacoma accessories (running boards, roof rack, hood and window reflectors, bed may) and it was well over 40.

Okay, so 12% PST and GST in. Or was HST in play at that point?

Anyways, doesn't matter. Seems like I got a fairly screaming deal on my Tacoma. I knew I got a good deal due to the circumstances of my purchase, but I didn't think it was THAT good. So, after fees, is it more like a 2016 TRD Sport could be $50K?

That would be ridiculous. You can get a lot of fullsized truck for that sort of change.

We sold our 2007 Frontier and are planning on a 2016 Tacoma V-6 4WD with SR5 and a few extras, this truck should be under $38,000 ALL IN. We would really like this truck but will not overpay because Toyota Canada's dealers won't give a decent break for cash, it this truck is pushing $40k all in we will wait for the new Frontier which should be out mid 2016. Raising prices for trucks in Canada's current economy would be suicidal anyway, possibly and hopefully prices will remain about the same as the 2015 models.

Hummm if the 2016 Taco is build in US and and Double cab TRD there costs about 39K then in Canada based on 1.32 dollar exchange it will cost over $51K here before taxes. Limited should push 55K also before taxes. If I would have to spend 60K on a Taco after taxes it would make me sick. I can drive out 2015 GMC Canyon off road SLT under 45K tax in or 2016 Diesel for under 48K again tax in. That's easy 10 K under the taco. This is going to be interesting.
I have ordered a 2016 Taco but the pricing have not yet been released. I wonder if I will be going home in one or going to GM dealer. Should have an answer later on this month.

If Toyota's price is over 40k for the truck a new style Frontier, which hasn't been confirmed for North America let alone Canada, will be about the same. Companies don't lag behind the market price, they keep up to it.

    Good luck on your purchase.

I think Toyota Canada knows not many folks would spend much over 40k for a Tacoma.
I want the DCSB MT OFF ROAD but will wait and see the price.
