    Most recent version of the American flag was released in 1960.

    While HBC's last brigade ran in 1948, Mistassini was supplied by canoe brigades from Oskelaneo until the road was completed in 1967.
    There may be other areas supplied longer, but I am unaware of them.

    Canadians tend to overestimate how long ago canoes were used the same way Americans overestimate how long ago slavery was.

    MNR used canoe brigades to keep firefighting routes open into the 80's. The most recent (working) canoe brigade I'm aware of was the 2012 evacuation of campers due to a forest fire in Petawawa. Though to be fair, that was a temporary brigade formed from canoe rangers.

    Actually you're wrong OZ. Many manufacturers still produce canoes.
