    Hi guys. I am from Surrey, BC. just got 2015 DCLB SR5 and very glad to see Canadians on this forum.

    On canoeing - I tried canoeing and capsized with confidence and consistency. Bought an inflatable boat. Way better - hard to capsize, but have to be really careful with sharp objects while in it.. Now looking for an aluminum boat..

    i mostly paddle in Seaward kayaks. One of my favs for fun ocean kayak is Valley kayaks, we have the Avocet for smaller paddlers, and a Nordcap. Narrow,fast, with a fair bit of rocker makes it really manuverable and reacts immediately to your inputs.

    Canoe wise we have a Clipper Mackenzie. Paddled that, loaded down with gear on the Bowron Lakes chain. Did a few hours of lessons on the water with it empty, then 6 days with a partner. The first day was lots of zig zagging, pretty funny trying to stay connected to the group of kayaks, but the 2nd day was much better and kept improving from there.
