They don't need to do the "studies" and other BS, they just need to sign off on current operations IMHO.

Again, this is more a war of words than an expression of reality. I guess we will see what happens over the next few months with this legislation.

Conservatives are fast tracking this bill as is , without additional oversight but with expanded powers for CSIS and others , so it will be an expression of reality

So, my question to you is what are you doing that you are worried about this?

If you aren't doing anything wrong what does it really matter what CSIS knows?

Are you a protester? Do you foresee a police state coming with an election right around the corner?

My biggest fears are along the lines of information sharing. From the articles I've read there is a real concern that C-51 will cause excessive leaks of SIN numbers, income statements, and other personal private information. That's what I fear.

I think the definition of who CSIS and others could spy on is too broad especially the portion that describes economic projects deemed to be in the interest of Canada . I think that section goes part and parcel with the streamlining or watering down of environmental reviews and scientific studies in an effort to remove obstacles to the current government's push towards Canada as an oil exporting superpower .

The bill is so broad and far reaching there should at least be a full review and debate of it rather than fast tracking it as is being done .

I think your example is a little extreme, but I was trying to get an opinion of what people are thinking right now ;).

That is awesome. When I was working in the arctic I had a conversation about killer Wales with a hunter. It is pretty much the only animal they're are scared of (next to flies).
They won't hunt them for fear that if they don't get the whale it will remember and find them later.
    Crazy stuff.

Nah, I meant the stazi reference was a bit extreme ;). The rest I know is right. It's like the cop who pulls you over for speeding because he knows your a pot dealer too.

Polar bears are another story. If there is someone nearby with gun who has a tag for a bear it won't last long at all. If there is someone nearby with a gun and they can't scare it away, the bear won't last long.
In most of the town's there is usually a watch to keep them away. (they burn their garbage so there's always rotten food stench nearby). Bears don't usually make it through town and are usually only shot if they are a threat.
Outside of town you won't likely find someone who doesn't have a gun with them (rifles).
These people are more tuned into there surroundings than anyone I have ever seen before. They can see things miles out in blinding, snowy and icy light.

I would say polar bears are far more dangerous as there is no reported human fatality due to Orca attack in the wild that I am aware of

Didn't say they weren't any more or any less dangerous. That's just what I've been told they believe.

Yeah lions are the only thing that put a chill down my spine. I've done some hiking in the mountains alone, if there is anything that'll get you without prior notice it would be a lion.

Cougars have been coming down the coulees for a few years now. They're following the Elk down onto suffield. Try driving down a gravel road in the prairies only to see a cougar dash out from a field of wheat you were just about to go for a walk in.
