Meh, I think the point about Amazon.ca is the most valid. 5 years ago I bought all of my electronics at Visions and Futureshop. Now I buy my phones through a more local dealer and the majority of my electronics on Amazon.ca .

I still used to buy all of my large items, like TV's, at Futureshop around boxing week. This year I got an LG 40" 4K 120 HZ for $500 for my man cave. Best Buy only seems to have sales on the cheap ass TV's or the massive ones I buy once in 10 years. That's what makes me sad, the loss of those great middle deals the Futureshop often had that everyone else didn't.

At least this will be good for Visions, which is a western Canadian based chain.

Unfortunately the Visions in Grande Prairie is awful and in a poor location, maybe they'll relocate to the old FS spot and step their game up lol

Not having a FS local to me I have ordered lots of games and smaller items from them online always with free shipping and decent pricing , I bought my 2 tv's and all my home theatre equipment through FS and London Drugs

I've never liked either store. I found them to be like the walmarts of electronics. I could never find sales help where someone knew a good deal about a product I was looking for.
Then I would look for reviews online and find better prices.

bummer, i also preferred future shop over best buy. at least the smaller towns that only had a future shop will now have best buy instead of nothing.

I never understood BB's logic anyway. Buy a company then build their own stores next to the company they just bought. Why didn't they just switch the branding of FS to BB shortly after purchase and build new BB stores wherever they felt necessary?
Putting two competing stores next to each other seems like a waste of resources. Building a second store doesn't double the pool of customers in a given area, it just doubles their running costs.

i always thought the same but in areas with larger populations it seems to work. ppl just seem to buy more shit for the simple fact that it is available to them. you know, 1st world problems.

The stores I've been to its a different staff mentality... In Best Buy they were friendly but useless, in FS they would push hard for a sale (mostly useless too) but discount the crap out of stuff if you haggled... That's the benefit of commission driven sales I guess...

A lot of people I know would go to BB, get the cheapest price they could (after price matching, etc) , then go to FS and find a hungry salesperson to beat that price... I did that and got my 55 inch 120Hz 4K LG with warranty, calibration, PS4 (with warranty) , 4 games, extra controller, a couple spools of speaker wire for a buddy, and most of my Xmas shopping (tablet, Bluetooth speaker, remote control car, Philips Hue lights) ... For just over $2400 after tax

Lucky passengers. 1000 feet is a long way off from the runway. It'll be interesting to hear what happened. The article says that weather wasn't a factor?

The Halifax airport staff should get roasted for leaving the passengers out on the tarmac for an 1 hour in that shit though. That's just stupid.

Sweet, I think I've been on that ferry many times. If that was the little cable ferry that crosses the lake a few km out of Nelson. Kootney Lake is a great place to visit with lots to see and do, including some really good 4x4ing though I haven't worked my way out that far yet with the Tacoma.

Nelson is nice to visit but it's your typical interior small city drug den. A few people hold down real jobs but you can basically smell the pot the moment you hit the edge of town :D.

Treads are sweet, but I've heard they break ALOT. When you look at them they are pretty complex with lots of moving parts. I'd hate to blow one in 5-6 feet of powder and bury that Raptor in seconds.
