I wasn't commenting on the drug itself, I was commenting on the town and the general demeanor of the area. Hippy doesn't do it justice

 

Yeah it was crazy. Big law suits on the horizon now according to the news.

 

The passengers were stranded out in a blizzard for an hour

 

Some people were in shorts and others had no shoes , eyewitnesses said in the news report I watched last night that the passengers all huddled in big circles with the people with jackets on the outside and the people with no winter gear on in the middle , people with shoes were taking their shoes off and giving shoeless people their socks

 

There was some kind of power failure that wouldn't allow the vehicle access gate to open to gain access to the area where the plane crashed

 

Sounds fishy. I wouldn't be surprised if someone is found criminally liable for leaving those people out there if there ends up being any lingering effects. Anyone hear what caused the missed landing? I was guessing maybe they landed on instruments and somewhere something human or computer got messed up by 300 meters.

 

What i don't inderstand is Halifax international isn't all that big. I could walk from the tip of the furthest runway to the terminal in less than 10 minutes. Granted there was a snowstorm but there was no reason why the able bodied people couldn't have been guided by airport staff to the terminal.


One passenger said after the plane crashed he called 9-1-1. They were completely unaware of the situation. Wtf, I know the airport has emergency staff but people in a plane crash will need to go to a hospital. Someone from the tower, HIAA or air Canada should've made that call as soon as the plane was crashing.

 

It's the Airports job. Air Canada's A320's are too old to have the automatic warning systems that lets corperate know the plane is FUBAR'd if I remember correctly. The airport is supposed to coordinate a rescue, the tower would of seen the whole thing and they should of scambled the on duty emergency vehicles.

Yeah, I'm thinking the same thing. No sane rescue person is going to leave a crashed jet, potential leaking fuel all over the place, and a whole bunch of passengers alone out on the runway. They would of cut/destroyed the fence. Someone's trying to cover their ass.

Good information. I guess they had to wait for the school devision to lend them buses or something stupid like that.

 

You're more likely to see humpbacks or minkes than orcas

 

They are usually more transient , hard to judge where they will be

That's fantastic.

13 yrs ago we took a Puget Sound whale watching tour from Bellingham; outfit was located in the AMHS ferry terminal there. Saw more Orcas on that tour than I've ever seen in one place at the same time up here. Just thought I'd mention it.

Also, serious Questions for a Haligonian, why is it called Halifax International when it is no where near Halifax? damn thing is halfway to Truro
