Yeah, I saw that last week. I made a comment about it on the Calgary thread. I have no problem with people making mistakes when they are young. We all did that. That girl trying to defend fingering the flag and her weed photos is where the issue is. She's come off as a complete idiot. What kind of dummy leaves there facebook totally open to the public? Especially when you are running for office.

Someone in the Alberta NDP, which has plenty of people that were higher ups in the unions here, needed to vet these potential candidates before they ran.

Yup. Between her, the 67 year year old Yoga teacher, and the 20 year old computer science student I feel like Alberta is in good hands .

That all being said hopefully the NDP can whip these lucky losers into shape. I know they called in a bunch of the Federal NDP advisers to help out with PR. They are also supposed to be teaching there MLA's what is acceptable and what is not. As long as none of them makes it into cabinet they won't have much of a voice anyways. Young and/or inexperienced members should sit down and shut up for a bit until they learn how to play the political game.

Oh, and they should clean up the FB's lol.

I'm willing to accept her version of events that she was sleep deprived , on flu medication and had wine with the dinner , but , even if all that is 100% true , it won't erase the political soundbite bombshell that will tarnish her record forever which is a shame because she actually does a good job of dealing with issues that are relevant to her constituents

 

She's basically an independent MP since she is the leader of the Greens and their only MP. I would expect she does an excellent job of voicing the needs of her local constituents.

I still think they she get her hammered before the leaders debates this fall. I'd PPV that!

 

She's not our MLA , she's our MP

Our MLA is Provincial , our MP is Federal , not sure if you were aware of how that works

 

Let's be honest, it's not like she's a legitimate contender for PM in the upcoming election anyway.

WTF are you talking about? The greens will rise up! May has spent the last several days consuming more cough syrup and studying the NDP election plan in Alberta. If the NDP can win in Alberta why can the Greens not win nationally? They will be drinking Lime Crush this winter on the hill!

I think this episode will likely send some of the voters who went Green last time back to the Liberals or the NDP

 

People vote for the Green Party? I figured that 3% of the vote was just the elderly folk who thought they were voting for the next colour of the retirement home drapes...

Edit: Whoops, I'm sorry, before OZ has a hissy fit the Greens had 3.91% of the vote last election. Sadly, I guess there's more seniors with Alzheimers than I thought.
