Ah. Scenic trip or just don't want to do the whole drive across the empty prairie?

So I hear. Doesn't really lower the stress level of moving 6000kms without a solid life plan. haha
Prairies are fine. Straight, flat divided highway with 110km/h limit. It's the 25 hours in Ontario (especially the northern half) that I am avoiding.

My brother coined it as "Onterrible". Slow, hilly, twisty old highway with no civilization or cell service and super expensive gas when you finally see a station. I can see why so many rich folks have kickass cottages up there because it is so private and relaxing....just not a fun drive. ha

Yeah, when I last did it we went across the Michigan "panhandle" and then up through Lake of the Woods. That trip was pretty fun.

I haven't 100% decided yet which way I will take this time. Either NB right into Maine and under the Great Lakes or Canada until Sault St Marie, Ontario then split between Lake Superior and Lake Michigan. I just want to avoid the 401 and northern Ontario. My route will probably be a game-day decision based on gas prices and exchange rates at the time.

Speaking of travel @OZ-T, would you re-enter Canada and take the Tsawassen-Swartz Bay ferry or stay US and take the Anacortes-Sydney ferry?
