Hey guys the event at bass pro was cool. Very brief. No test track you got to sit it and drive around the parking lot. No test track with a off road course and the made sure there was no pictures. Sorry guys I tried to pretend I was media.

I like it. It's now made with all the same media and fancy interior to compete with the Colorado and Canyon. I'm not sold on the look of the front end at all. Would I buy one ? Yes but I'll give them a few years to get all the bugs out of the 3rd gen. The tailgate looks nice.

People commit fraud for far less than 1.5 million. I see your point of view and in some ways I share it, but this will have to be watched closely because the motivation for abuse is definitely there.

This isn't just about the crooks. It's about the crooks who could blackmail the crooks. No honor among thieves. It's not hard to see a situation where someone tries to extort more than the 1.5 million out of someone or threaten to go to the cops and get their money. I'm not okay with that situation and it is a possibility.

That's part of it, we don't know what the reward scale will be. Similar to crimestoppers this program doesn't provide clear rewards from the sounds of it. A lack of clear rewards kind of gets rid of the advantages of the program, doesn't it? I mean if someone is pulling down $100K as a good investment banker or analyst and the law doesn't guarantee to financially take care of them then what's the point of the law at all. If it's just a moral choice to whistle blow and the program isn't set in stone is it really going to push someone financially savvy one way or the other on their decision to whistleblow if they see improprieties committed?

I'm not saying that not having this program in place prevents extortion. It does provide the leverage for extortion of public funds in a manner though. I can see some of the concern and benefits from each end. Both sides are valid.

You shouldn't need financial incentives to be a whistleblower. The law clearly already protects you. Several people who have been fired have gone back and sued for far more than 1.5 million dollars.

    http://www.torontosun.com/news/canada/2010/04/06/13489906-qmi.html

That's just the first thing that came up in google but I know I've read about dozens of cases where the whistleblower won a settlement worth far more than 1.5 million dollars.

I think a government program that spots you an interest free loan while your in court could be a more appropriate action.

In my industry whistleblowing is anonymous. When you're anonymous then how can people limit your career path. Someone reported some recommendations that were illegal not very long ago against a few companies in my area. The hammer came down hard and fast from PMRA. No one has any clue who actually reported the issue. It seemed to me like the system worked there.

Little hiccup at the U.S. border and had to go through Canada. Apparently you aren't allowed to take mattresses due to fear of bedbug spread.
That Manitoba sign is such a beautiful sight.

@Sterdog I wish that were my rav. I have to suffer with the Tacoma instead haha

I don't know how many people heard Donald Trump go on his rant against Mexico, but if you did you're probably assuming that NAFTA is done if Trump gets into the white house.

    For one , he won't

For another , is it even possible for a nation to opt out of that agreement ?

Yup, he's a reality TV star for a reason. It was funny to watch him go off on Mexico and Mexicans like that though, even though what he said about the trade deal is true the rest was pretty racist lol.

The guy went bankrupt a few times and definitely worked the system to his advantage. He's a smart and ruthless business man. A lot of that sort of character can translate directly to politics. I never called him stupid and I don't think anyone thinks he actually is. If he wants to become president I doubt Bush 3.0 or Clinton 2.0 are going to be able to stop him.
