Here's part of the CSIS mandate FAQ

" How does CSIS decide to investigate a particular person or group?

While CSIS cannot disclose its operational methodologies, it is important to note that when it decides to investigate a person or a group, it is because they are suspected of posing a threat to the security of Canada as defined in section 2 of the CSIS Act. The person or group must be engaging in activities that are believed to be in support of espionage, sabotage, foreign-influenced activity or activities in support of terrorism."

Is CSIS allowed to investigate protest groups?


CSIS is is mandated to investigate individuals or groups that may pose a threat to the security of Canada. As defined in section 2 of the CSIS Act, threats include espionage or sabotage, foreign-influenced activities or activities in support of terrorism. Section 2 specifically bars CSIS from investigating "lawful advocacy, protest or dissent,"unless it is carried out in conjunction with one of the threat-related activities defined in the Act.

I always thought Petro-Canada was a domestic company and today I was watching a Bundesliga game from Wolfsburg , Germany and there is Petro-Canada advertising on the pitch side hoardings

 

Didn't know it had merged with Suncor either till I looked it up

 

V Power is still ethanol free in Canada

 

And last I read the only Canadian fuel provider that is MMT free.

 

Shell gas does seem to get better mileage in my experience, but that could just be a local thing.

Fucking B-17 just flew right over my house about 300' up . " Sentimental Journey " has been at the Victoria Flying Club on display all last week and it just went over my shack . That makes 2 B-17 flyovers in the 20 years I've been here .

Not bad for a plane that only numbers less than 10 airworthy worldwide

 

Iv stayed away from Shell since their additives were shown to destroy fuel pumps. They may have corrected that by now.

 

Ha, I had some of my short term work out of that airport. The Emergency Measures office at right there, and the Wildlands Forest Protection branch depot is just north along the highway from there.

TBH we are screwed either way. If you have no career right now the NDP definitely looks favorable. If you don't pay taxes and don't need your job who cares if the NDP will need billions in new taxes to initiate the programs they've talked about. However, if you have a career and pay taxes you can either vote for someone who will beat you and your employer down with taxes or vote for someone who isn't doing anything for human rights or the environment. Lose lose. No middle ground anymore.

I've stopped talking about either side winning. In the end I lose either way. It's all about losing the least at this point for me.

Did you catch the Kevin O'Leary rant against the NDP and the NDP response. It pretty much sounds out how each side is thinking now.

 

I think it's pretty funny how the Conservatives have morphed their mantra from " Look how great we are at managing Canada's prosperity " to " Yeah it sucks but it would be worse with either of the other guys . Nice hair though "

 

Kind of should be every parties mantra right now. Hey, under us things will suck but here's how it will sucks less for some people and suck more for others.

I'm still surprised the PC's care about Justin. He isn't doing terribly well in drumming up Liberal support. What's really pushing the NDP right now is Quebec. I wonder if they end up in power how much more money they will have to drain back that way to keep that level of support. I know under the Liberals it wasn't an issue. I hope it can stay that way if the NDP pull off a victory.

I know it sounds terribly offensive but you should hear the sense of entitlement some of my more extreme french relatives have. It's down right sickening how much they think the government should be giving them.
