    Yeah, some plumber/handyman pissed in a coffee cup a few years ago while on the job which was caught on a hidden camera by the customer who owned that coffee cup. That individual that did the pissing then ran for the PC's in this federal election before the video of "peegate" was leaked. After the video was leaked the PC's pulled his candidacy. I guess "have you ever pissed in someones coffee cup" should be added to the potential candidate questions? Funny stuff!

    Heads up though, I don't think pissing in a disgruntled customers coffee, literally, has much to do with your political alignment.

    Definitely. I think Harper should run with it. I like a candidate that doesn't piss in Canada's coffee cup :)

    Honestly, I think Harper is just trying to show he's a normal guy. There are lots of pictures lately of him playing video games with his kids, attending ball games, and doing other normal guy stuff. The NDP really enjoy painting him as the new Hitler, so I can understand why the simple guy approach is being tried. If the NDP press to hard on it they may end up looking like exactly what they are trying to make the PC's out to be, a bully.

    Nope. Just pointing out my angle on the plan. The other side of it is that the NDP could run with it and use "I'm not perfect" in a set of attack ads, but who knows how the population will take that. It would be interesting to see.

    I just find it a bit disturbing that the same people who talk about the NDP because they want a social utopia and think the NDP could get us there are the same people posting images of Adolf Hilter photo shopped next to the PM...

    I honestly think the attack ads I have seen so far have been about 15 000 by the Tories to about 3 by the NDP

    Agreed. Budget constraints.... actually to be perfectly honest I haven't seen a NDP ad run yet that sticks in my head from this election.

    Probably has to do with the lack of support the NDP can expect out in the Prairies in this election. Saskatchewan's PC government is doing a pretty good job from the people I know there and the Alberta NDP haven't done anything, except scare some folks with a few comments, to bolster any national NDP support here.

    BTW the local NDP candidate just announced they are starting their campaign this week. Better late than never. Maybe the ads are the same way due to the lower budget the NDP have to work with.

    At the end of the day the biggest hindrance to any left of center party, in Canadian terms anyways, in the Prairies is the threat of further alienation and loss of power in the west. When the Liberals are in there seems to be a perceived disconnect with Alberta and Saskatchewan.
