The Liberals have committed to 3 years of deficits. Politicians always candy coat things so we could be in for some sever deficits. That or taxation. Who knows.

Liberals and ndp promised to restore funding to the cbc, reversing the CPC's $115 million per year cut.

Here's the factors as I see them

People wanted Harper gone more than anything else , they chose Trudeau over Mulcair as the person they wanted to support after that happened

That's not the same thing as a payoff. Besides, to be honest, CBC has always been a more liberal news organisation. I don't mean to say they are in cahoots with the Liberals or NDP, but they are slightly leftist if anything.

Actually, honestly, all of our news is pretty close to center. It only leans slightly one way or the other. Which is something we should be thankful for.

I'd suggest that the polls made that decision for most people and you are oversimplifying. Which is funny, because you constantly accuse me of that. Hello Kettle.

No I'm serious. Soap box time.

This country is a fucking mess. I'm not talking about the budget. I'm not talking about the economy. I'm not talking about the god damn fucking peace keepers either. I'm talking about the people. In pubs, on the street, and on social media. Those people. Red, Blue, Orange, White, Purple, Rainbow it's all the same. There's no Canada anymore. People want to divide instead of understand. Compassion has been replaced by this overwhelming need for everyone to fuck everyone else mentally as bad as they can with anti whatever imagery and speech meant to hurt the people they disagree with as bad as possible. Then they expect everyone to still be there friend even after they basically spend 90% of there time with other people online and in person shitting all over that persons Politics, Religion, or something else personal comes up bashing the other persons skull in. It's a big fucking mess. In a lot of ways it makes me want to burn down the whole fucking Canadian image in whatever way possible because it's not even remotely true in any form anymore except in peoples candy coated fucking minds.

Alright, I feel better now, let's carry on.

Well you are going after someone for saying the media influenced the election when they clearly did. Do you think the Liberals would have a majority if the polls hadn't showed a drop off in NDP support a week before the election? I think, in a lot of ways, the majority that was achieved was it's own self fulfilling prophecy.

    From the liberal platform:
We will protect the interests of our national broadcaster, in the interests of all Canadians. We will reverse Stephen Harper’s cuts and invest $150 million in new annual funding for CBC/Radio-Canada, to be delivered in consultation with the broadcaster and the Canadian cultural community.

I didn't know about the $150 million in new funding until just now. So a liberal win means cbc gets a little over a billion more in the next 4 years as compared to the last 4 years.

Exactly and I'm sorry but I find that all bit rediculous to be funding any news/tv Corp that much, there are far better means for that kind of coin.

Like I said, more to the story. By leaving that out it sounds like people organised themselves when really the media sheepled them in a lot of ways. I'm not sure I'm okay with that trend and not sure there is much we can do to fight it either.

Maybe Trudeau following through on a hybrid system of election would help.

Depends who you ask and where they live.
Liberals didn't hold a seat west of Manitoba after the 1980 election.

Yeah, Trudeau left with an even worse reputation than Harper. At least East of Toronto he was hated that much.

I don't really know if i can agree that the act of posting polling aggregate results is congruent to shepperding people to vote in a certain direction , I mean all the same polling numbers were posted in media that " supports " all the parties

Well exactly and thing is we have to ask ourself what is a Canadian anymore? It seems everytime I turn around that we are changing some law or attitude to please a new comer or some religion, we're taking Christmas out of schools and the public eye, that's just one example.
That's not being racist or a bigot, sorry this has been happening for awhile and it's progressively gotten worse and I disagree with it.

Being a practicing Christian has never been a pre-requisite for being Canadian
