I think a point that should be mentioned is that greater than 2/3rds of the vote comes from the part of the country where Trudeau was liked. Much like the US not every part of the country is represented well because of the various population differences. Which is fair, I'm not trying to say it isn't, but the people who had a burning hatred of Trudeau are mostly in the Prairies which is still reflected by the strong PC vote in those, less meaningful to the candidates, areas.

The most concerning thing about what I stated above is that two of the main economic drivers of Canada, both internationally and internally, are Agriculture and Oil which are represented by area's with much smaller populations...

Thats the one I was following yes , but polling information was not limited to that one , you could get all the polling numbers pretty much anywhere , although you are correcting in pointing out that was the one that was posting the aggregate , I should have just said polling information in my first post

My parents were, and so were my friends parents. Trust me, I knew who Trudeau was literally the moment I went to my first day of school as a kid in Alberta. The hatred here runs deep, deep enough so that even my generation of voters had second thoughts about the Liberals under him.

What about stopping them at 7 days prior to an election? I think it's a function of time as well as what I mentioned. The shorter the time to the election, the more the loop feeds back.

I would suggest we've always been multicultural. My argument had nothing to do with that. I personally don't support what you are saying.

    I voted Liberal :).

Anyways, I didn't want to bring that up because I knew that's what the interpretation would be, but I do worry about the disconnect from the votes to the primary industries and their exports. That being said, it applies equally to ALL governments, be they Red, Blue, or Orange, to ignore the areas with the lowest populations in favor of the opinions of the area's with the highest populations.

Currently the provinces with lower populations are overrepresented in the HOC, Quebec is quaranteed something like 23%. The end result is underrepsentation for BC, Alberta, and Ontario.

No one cares, they don't have oil :).

Oh wait, there is a polar bear that lives there. We better give them a few million to do a study on whether or not it will die this year or next year from lack of food :D.

Yup. The concerning part is that Quebec is not an economic driver for Canada without Canadian funding which comes from other areas of Canada....

But try being a politician telling that to Quebecers. If your first word out isn't in French and talking about how important Quebec is they will hang you up to dry.

Proportional representation for every province (not just quebec) would shift power to the West and Ontario, which is why it won't happen
