Did you watch the CBC National panel discussion on it ?

 

ya, they didn't see much value in comment sections.

 

I thought that was actually a pretty good discussion , usually I'm not a big fan of that Sunday night panel

 

CBC comments section is useless anyway. No matter what the article the comments are always bitching about Trudeau or Harper. The article could be about how grass grows better in the summer rather than winter and within the first 3 comments someone will rant about the current or former government.
If I wanted to read arguments written simply for the sake of arguing, I would unblock Sterdog.

Been $114.9 here in sooke for ages and I paid 108.9 at Langford Costco last week.

 

It's been bouncing between 79.9/L and 89.9/L around here. Last time I was in Calgary I saw a Costco post 78.9/L when I was buying some pants.

 

$0.879/L for 87 here

 

It'll go up in Alberta by about 0.06/L in the new year too... I guess that's worth mentioning.

based on a $0.06/L increase, 20,000 km per year, and 450 km per tank (65L fill up) = ~$175 per year
that, of course, is on top of the $0.04/L fuel tax increase last March ($115 per year)

 

Sounds about right. They said about $500-$600 per family, so if you have two cars and spend $4000 on home energy a year that's about bang on.

 

Metro Vancouver has a 15 cent/L transit tax on gas where as Victoria only has a 3.5 cent/L transit tax. The island actually usually comes out on top as far as having the cheaper price at the pump, at least if you're comparing the two city centres.

 

If you are a frequent flyer to the smaller islands, you can use a prepaid ferry card and save 40% I believe it was, on fares. Doe not cover the major routes to the mainland though.

 

Depending on when you plan on traveling BC ferries have been offering 50% off select sailings for the price for your vehicle. You still have to pay the full fare for the driver and any passengers.
This promotion only runs till Dec. 19th at the moment. They did however just start running this promotion and I imagine they'll run more in the future.
