    Anyone Alberta way notice the price of beer and liquor jump up? I don't drink a ton but I was shocked yesterday when I went in to pick up some alcohol for the holiday season.

    Depends where you are . Greater Vancouver has a .15 / litre transit levy where as the CRD area has a levy too but its only .07 / litre IIRC , the rest of Van Isle has no transit levy

    LOL. That would be cool. I hear the accommodations there are plentiful and cheap.
    Some of my work partners have been in places (texas) where they can only work till sundown, as its not safe in the neighbourhood to be there after dark, or they've had to unload what they need out of the work vans, (New Jersey) then move them to secure parking elsewhere and return by taxi.

    All I've had to worry about is bears so far here in Canada. Hmmm, Keeping the bear spray in the truck though for work in the US

    Some good backcountry hiking there away from the campground and up into the mountains. Great place for tourists to get lost, start in shorts by the lake, and end up in snow in the alpine.

    When they ask me if I am carrying any hazardous materials in the work van, I respond with "just me" and a grin. Haven't tried that while wearing a Shemagh and a beard, with no grin.

    Heavy storms hitting us again right now , surprised I still have power , been pouring rain all day and we're under a Wind Warning , with Environment Canada calling for gust up to 110 km tonight and it feels like all of that right now

    many of the places I worked at, or visited in Oregon this summer are flooded, places like Tillamook, Rockaway Beach. Beach fronts saw 25' waves on top of a 10' tide + 90mph winds. Landslides as well blocking some roads.
