Depends where you live and the type of private property. If you are, for example, in a mall parking lot you can be ticketed for breaking traffic laws because the area is generally used and accessible to the public for easement or parking.
Basically if you can cause an accident involving the rest of the public you can be ticketed. Weird exceptions for reserves but they have all sorts of different rules.

Completely agree on the stop sign's. If I was using a dash cam I'd probably try and follow the rules, lol. Also a guy I work with was recently driving down Mayor Magrath drive in lethbridge, drunk. He cut some guy off and the guy caught up to him, cut him off, pulled him from his car and held him on the ground until the cops arrived ( he called 911 on his cell while holding him down). Pretty sad. He was a good worker but I'm willing to bet he won't have a job when CNRL takes over.

That ticket is not going to hold up in court.

Again, depends where you live. In Ontario it won't, in Alberta, it will.

In every major Ag job I know it's automatic dismissal once you get a DUI. Plus once that happens you'll be lucky to ever find a job in the sector again. While I feel bad for people who make bad choices that hurt themselves and their families I kind of have to agree with that policy. You can't trust a guy to cover 40k kms a year plus personal mileage with a company truck yet know he doesn't make good decisions behind the wheel.

A funny side story. My wife was driving back from her old job in Lethbridge at 11 pm a couple of years back when she sees a van with a uhaul trailer swerving across all lanes. She stays behind the guy and watches the same thing happen 4 times. Finally she calls the cops. Right before Barnwell a cruiser crosses the median and pulls the guy over.

She gets a call once she gets home. the guy wasn't drunk... but he was towing over 5k pounds of weight with a minivan without any weight distribution lol. The RC thanked her and the guy got a ticket for something along the lines of wreckless driving iirc.

In Ontario, that is correct. But its the only exception. All other provinces, like BC/Alberta, the HTA/TSA is enforceable on privately owned property accessible to public.

The only enforceable time in ontario is if "some large shopping centres have made arrangements with their local governments so that the municipality classifies the shopping centre's main roads as a highway, in order for them to be covered by the HTA, and speed limits and road signs can be enforced, says Ontario's Ministry of Transportation." It usually is automatic dismissal, but at the time he was on mental leave, he's going through a divorce and is having some drug problems from what I understand. He's probably going to end up in Panoka.

    Hey Guys!

I know that this is blatant plugging, and totally off topic, but my wife and I are taking a risk and going after our dreams! I know i'm a new member, but i've been a lurker/avid searcher for a few years now! We are both stoked on the TW community, and we were a little bit hoping to gain a little support from any of you that have a minute to share our new business: Overland Outfitters!

We are based in the Greater Vancouver area, and to start, are focussing primarily on Tepui RTT rentals/sales. We are getting our first shipment in a month or so, and are pretty stoked! We are just really hoping that this can take off. Our goal is really just to help people get outside of the city and exploring more. Eventually, if this starts gaining a bit of traction, we would like to expand to fridges, etc.

It's a scary but super exciting time for us as young newly weds, but we just love camping and exploring, and want to share that passion!

So if you have a second to share this with anybody you might know who would be interested, we would really really appreciate it!
Our website is young, and our tents are still on the way, so forgive us for a lack of good pictures at the moment! (and forgive me for the shameless plug!)

I hate to say it but try 4wheelparts.ca . That's probably your best option.
