    Or people could stop panicking about modern herbicides and those weeds could be gone....

    Either or. I finally talked my father in law into letting me kill the clover, thistle, and dandelion out of his lawn. He tried that Scotts iron "weed killer" dozens of times, all it did was burn holes in the lawn. The damage done by the weeds was so bad that the yard is uneven from all of the tap roots. I'm sure though that people somehow think that is better than a few ounces of 2,4-D.

    Doesn't work. Dandelions actually recover far faster than grass. So you end up with a dandelion patch instead of a lawn. If that's your thing how about you lead by example. I'll be waiting for pictures.

    My point is that the anti 2,4-D movement is right up there with anti-vaxers and anti-fluorides folks. If you ask one of them whats wrong with 2,4-D used responsibly the only response they know is "it's an unnatural chemical..". Too bad Auxins naturally occur in plants.

    I just mow what ever is there , I've never fertilized or used weed killer on my "lawn" for the 21 years I've lived here , I do dig out thistles though because I don't like stepping on them in bare feet
