most people use the term "PM" in place of Prime Minister. Clearly, that's not what you're referring to....right? Because that's a pretty aggressive term for someone who once stammered out 19 apologies over the course of a week for accidentally bumping into someone during a Donnybrook in Parliament. I think it's safer to say he's really, really friendly, or he's really good about posing for photos and taking advantage of being born into Celebrity as the platform for a political career. I have to admit though, it's almost impossible for a reasonable person to complain about our situation up here just now. :canada:

I am totally with our Prime Minister
I am totally with our Prime Minister. Under Harper our standing on the world stage went straight into the tank, we were laughed out of the UN. Looking forward to the conservatives twiddling their thumbs for the next few years.

Anyone know of a Canadian vendor who sells a black/clear version of a Canadian flag decal - similar to the black/clear US flag I see on some of the US Tacomas? Something subtle and understated that would look good on any colour truck.

Hey lets not get too specific into politics so we don't end up with a mod-a-thon in here . They usually leave us alone in here because none of the Americans care about Canadian politics but that leash is still pretty short

Sounds like you've read a few opposition articles about Harper - saying he's a sack of dung sure helps to set the credibility for the rest of your argument. This kind of discussion is always fruitless (but harmless) because it reveals a little about the debaters but absolutely nothing about the politicians. We all have our own skewed perceptions that are based on our own unique perspective, understanding, ideals, silly media propaganda subjugation, etc. Too many people read a few opinion pieces and never try to gauge the accuracy or validity of the article. News media shits on those in power to drum up interest, outrage, and sales. I think that's why politics is so polarizing. I know there was a lot of hate from a lot of CDN's for Harper but the one thing I always appreciated about him, was that he didn't just lean with the wind and do things solely to be loved and appreciated. If you read about him, he actually hated the spotlight and the socializing and schmoozing, and grudgingly put up with it as part of the job. I think his intentions were generally good and not self-serving. It worries me that our new leader it too concerned with being Canada's sweetheart and won't say no to people. I am pretty neutral on most things (conservative in some :quickdraw:and liberal in others:rasta:) but I do believe that there are certain facets of our society that need a little more of a firm, fair hand, than more coddling and apologies. I'd love to see all CDN's treated equally, and to lose the double standards that our overly sensitive, classroom-educated and media-swayed society seems to be convinced we need.

If that's too political, so be it. :sorry:

Its only been a year versus Harper's 10 , not really fair to compare their acheivements at this point

Being in Ottawa, I'd like to tell you it's been night and day between conservative and liberal. Being a politician is really not that great of job. I full expect Trudeau to have grey hair or be balding like his father by the time his term is up. I believe we need more time to judge the actions of the current liberal government first before comparing either.

Prior to the economic crash in 2008 due to the sub prime mortgage crisis in the United States the conservatives decided to drop the GST by 2% point as we were in the black and paying down the debt. While I did benefit and many of us did as well, it really affected the governments ability to respond to this crisis. This was reflected by the huge deficits taken between 2009 and 2013. If we were allowed to run our own homes this way, we would likely be filing for bankruptcy.

Mind that if it were not for the Martin government, we would of likely been affected more by the subprime mortgage crisis. The Martin government introduced stress testing and would not allow the Canadian bank to take on excessive risk like the American ones did.

Anyway the conservative government tightened their belts. They reduced preventative maintenance on government buildings in Ottawa (24 Sussex for example) and delay major capital project that were very much needed. The military spending was poor to the point I would say that safety was affected.

People in Ottawa had to compete for their own jobs, and the way labour reductions were done was poorly implemented... Thanks Tony Clement.

The message to media was tightly controlled and any data was removed that might damage perception. Sadly this continues today. The handling of these countries finances have been crappy by everyone... well maybe expect the Martin was the finance minister, and Flarity (sp) still had the balls to say No to Harper from time to time. In the end I want someone who can keep the books balanced and still insure that we still receive a decent education and great hospital care.

    Getting off my soapbox.

Since we are all in rust land, did anyone ever take their header off and notice how bad the stock bolts rust? I did and I need more now, anyone know where to get them. Dealer wants like 42 probably a stud

If your 2011 studs are so rusty I can't imagine how mine could be... I always told myself to not touch headers bolt until exhaust leaks, if so, take it to a shop lol. Don't want to break a bolt in the head and have to drill it...

It's pretty common amongst all the brands. Eric in the South Main Auto Youtube videos typically heats up the nuts with a torch before knocking them loose with an impact wrench.

Luckily the studs are cheap, less than a dollar apiece: http://parts.villagetoyota.com/prod...eed/STUD--HEXALOBULAR/3318127/90126A0019.html

Yes, VillageToyota catalog shows the same P/N for both the 4.0 and 2.7. It's also used in other models like the Prius.

^Just buy them at your local dealer. If they are 0.84 on Village Toyota, they can't be more than $3 at the parts counter. ;)
