Canada Top 10 Peaceful Countries in the World

Canada has cracked the top 10 in a global security assessment that ranks countries based on how peaceful they are.The Global Peace Index ranked Canada eighth out of 153 countries, a six spot jump over last year.

Has Canada ever been in a war?

I think i heard you guys sent like 50 people to Iraq to help out or something like that..

Canada has a long history of brave soldiers in a number of wars. I'm definitely NOT saying that the US does not also have many many brave soldiers.

Canada is extremely proud of our military!!!

 

We were in WW1 and WW2 before the US , and we were part of the UN forces in Korea .

We were in the coalition during the first Gulf War , declined involvment in the second hunt for Saddam's non - existent WMD's , and instead participated in the 9 years in Afganistan .

Yet we still manage to be in the top 10. WOOT!!

 

Until recently a Canadian Sniper Rob Furlong had the longest sniper kill in Afgan.

 

I don't think that taking part in wars in other countries is really relevant. We are talking about safe countries to live in (i.e. crime rates).

 

True in that case.
I live in Montana, so very little crime here. But its here.

If the USA had the population of Canada, things would be different. This is a poor comparison of apples vs oranges here. Stick 311 million people in Canada and see how your crime rates stand.
