Canadian 3rd Gen Thread

Since the Canadian variant will likely (as it always seems to) have some differences with equipment, delivery times, and costs I thought it would be a good idea to organize a Canadian '16 thread. Toyota Canada don't even have the '16s on their website.

Has anyone north of the 49th parallel ordered or received one yet? How is pricing comparatively to the 15's and to the US?

Dealers seem generally useless on this one so far. No one has info on it from those I've asked

 

From the rumours I have been hearing. Oct 13 is when Toyota Canada will release prices and all other information.

 

I've been offered "incentives" if I pre-order, but I refuse to do so until pricing and final specs are available.

A few questions:

Still no off road package for double cabs? (thanks for nothing Toyota Canada)
Still only manual transmission available for DCSB?
Can blind spot system be added without the upgrade package? I begrudgingly have come to appreciate these in newer, high beltline vehicles but I hate sunroofs.

 

1.)No TRD OFFRoad...Still only on the AC TRD
2.) As of right now, correct
3.)Blind Spot cannot be added without going to the Upgrade Package... From what I hear that in the next few years this might be standard equipment across Toyota's lineup.

 

Thanks very much for your info. Unfortunately it looks like Toyota Canada hasn't learned anything from the prior generation's lacklustre options compared to US offerings.

 

Why no DCLB TRD Offroad in Canada is beyond me . That would be the only configuration I would trade my current truck in for anytime soon

 

I ordered one, it's built and sitting in a compound. I hope toyota releases them next week. No pricing yet.

 

Patience. I think in the US that configuration will outsell the Sport. Which hopefully will make Toyota Canada reconsider not bringing that model up north.

 

Would be awesome, but I honestly doubt it. In 11 model years, they kept selling DCSB in Canada as MT only, despite the fact that 99% of DCSB trucks in US were auto. Also we newer got TX, TX Pro, Baja, TRD Pro packages, Rock Warrior Tundra etc etc. (Ok, we got the TX one sort of eventually....a package consisting of roof rack, side steps and new bedside stickers...)

 

anybody know details on buying in the states and bringing back to canada, if our dolar ever rises that is. Im close enough to Buffalo to consider this option in order to get my offroad automatic DCSB

 

Anybody know if the JBL audio system will be offered in the TRD Sport?

New member here but always been a stalker, i ordered my 4th Tacoma in June and the list of option thats posted here was exactly the selection i had to pick from. Looking forward to getting my TRD sport with the premium packages.
to answer a question you can get a DD cab in Canada with the Manual tranny but you can't get it with the long box only with the short box.

 

JBL with 7 speakers will only be offered in the Limited Model!

 

Thanks for the info. Is Limited long bed or short bed? It's only short bed in the US.

 

We call them standard box. 6 Foot box will be on the limited... The only model so far that will get the short box is the DC 6M
