Agree with Heninger for decent service. I've had my warranty work done by them and no problems. I have some recall work (rear leafs and catalytic converter recall) with them on Monday. As for regular maintenance, I do that myself following the Toyota recommended schedule so can't speak to that.

Bought my truck new at Gateway Toyota in Edmonton.

I always get my service done at dealership. Might cost a few more bucks, but when I traded in my 2013, they could list it as "Toyota Certified" vehicle, so it brought me a few extra bucks. Just something to keep in mind when changing your own oil. It depends on whether you trade them in on a regular basis or keep for extended period. I tend to trade them in regularly. Typically don't keep a vehicle outside its warranty period.

As a VW tech, I'll be doing my own oil changes and maintenance. I asked my autogroup's Toyota service manager and he said all I need to do is when I come in to buy parts, I just need to let them know what the mileage is on the vehicle and they'll note it on the invoice. That way all I need to do if I have warranty issues or for some reason I get rid of the truck, is show them all my invoices

Heninger toyota is where ive been approved a diff replacement so so far their service is top notch in my books. Ya cou try hills toyota think got the worst customer feedback in all dealerships in calgary. A guy from work who is old as .... told me that it hasnt changed there since his first purchase there and never went back for a second one. Try heninger or charlesglen.

After ordering a 2017 Off Road DCSB, which I assumed would be no different then the AC OR, I discovered through toyota.ca the DC will have a locking diff but no crawl control and MTS. I called my sales manager and email toyota.ca and the response from both has still left me confused as to what the heck will be coming in the new truck. One says yes it will have everything the AC OR package has (locking diff, CC and MTS) and the other tells me the locking diff is all it will be equipped with. Does anyone know the truth as to what will be available here in the 2017 off road DCSB AT?? Foot note:The electronic brochure says yes (fully equipped) and then the specifications when looking at "explore Tacoma", clearly only the diff is standard, CC and MTS not available. All found on the Canadian website.

The Canadian website sucks, very poor transfer of "real information". It's confusing for customers, and dealers. I'm confident that the double cab off road will have the same equipment that the access cab has. Time will tell, my build is supposed to start Sept 21st!! Unfortunately dealer has told me December, early January delivery. That seems like a long time, but will follow back up with dealer towards the end of the month.

I agree! Must be frustrating for sales people as much as it is for customers wanting a specific product. I hope you right!! They said I could expect my truck in November, if I hear anymore news about this topic I will post! Thanks for the quick reply

Toyota.ca is a joke. Hop on any other automakers website and it's far easier to figure out options packages and what is available.

    GL with the TRD OR.

That seems like a very long time. Anything longer than a couple months would have me questioning it and probably looking to another dealer, unless we are talking Pro.

I doubt many Mercedes buyers are hitting up the website though I get your point. On Ford.ca, GM.ca, etc etc you can figure out exactly what you want in 2 seconds flat and it's accurate. No such luck with Toyota.

That seems kinda silly. I would assume it comes with Locking diff, MTS and Crawl Control. Not sure how adding a full door changes the spec. That configuration was available from the get go in the US. I'm pretty sure you'll have all the toys.

Hold on hold on. Are we actually getting a DCSB TRD OR for 2017? In Canada?

Apparently Toyota Canada does focus group surveys and comes up with what will be offered for options in Canada based on the results. Problem is, they are not asking the right groups of people the right questions! I hope they realize the market in Canada for this configuration is alive and well! At the very least, make it an option and let the buyers decide.

Yeah I just got a 2016 OR. I wanted a double cab with the short box, but was told that Canada doesn't get that configuration. Turns out 2017 was the year that those are coming lol. I love my truck, but I would have preferred the full back seats.
