No noise yet. Only about 200K on it so far. I'll let you all know more as I drive it.

Spent 3 hours at the dealership for them to tell me its not a leak its just "sweating". Pretty sure sweating is just a slow leaking seeing as how the fluid should be staying in the dif. They re-torqued the bolts and cleaned it off and said to monitor it. 3 hours of my life and i'm sure i'll be back in another 9000km for the same issue. Oh and did i mention they wouldn't give me a replacement vehicle for the 3 hours. only a $10 cab voucher.

Less than impressed with the service i received today for a warranty issue at jim pattison toyota victoria.

They didn't give me a loner either. Imo, if they are doing warranty work and they know that they will have the truck over 24 hrs, then a loner should be available. If it's under 24hrs, the it's up to the customer.
    But that's just me...

Do you have noise as well? Or just a leaking diff?

I went to my dealer yesterday, They checked the R35 diff recall .... no leak for me ... they only re-torqued the bolts.

At the same time, they updated my 6 speeds auto transmission witch the TSB-4419 rev.1, I got the firmware 8966304B0300.

Hey Guys, just a heads up if you wanted to get the 4Runner TRD Pro rims, they are available to order in Canada again. I think there was a short supply for a couple months there.

Hey! Are any of you guys running halos/angel eyes? I've been looking for a Canadian distributor, but haven't been able to find one.
Amazon has some cheap ones, but I'd rather not go the cheap route, especially if pulling apart the headlight is as tedious as everyone is saying.

    Thanks!

Just had this firmware updated in my 2017 DCSB OR, manufacture date Oct.12, 2016 and yes it is a much smother ride. I have a hill on my way home that always reminded me of how shitty the trans was. Since the update the truck no longer forgets to down shift on the hill and i don't have to mat the accelerator to maintain speed. Very worth while.

Just the leak, but since its not actively dripping (its just seeping like the previous pics show) toyota won't warranty it. They said since its the 14mm nut diff with the factory locker it isn't the same issue the other 12mm nut diffs are having. The head tech talked about replacing yours because of the noise. He also stated that he believes toyota will have a recall to fix these 14mm diffs with lockers sooner than later. His thoughts are that the welds on the centreline of the diff are causing the paper gasket not to seal properly. but unless there is an active "drip" toyota will not pay to have it warrantied. My opinion is that toots canada need to step up to the plate and if a customer complains it should be warrantied not have to wait till the low fluid cost me a diff once I'm out of warranty.

Went to jim Patty surrey automall yesterday. Without actually letting them put my truck on hoist. Asked them about the rear diff leak. Service advisor + manager + mechanic all swore they've never seen a rear diff leak yet.

Showed them the picture of mine, they said 'meh doesn't look like it's actively leaking'

To which my response was ya... nothing should be leaking at all.

They offered to just inspect and said they'd tighten my bolts.

I laughed and said so no new gasket then? Thanks but no thanks I'll hold out till I get my letter in the mail for recall then.

Was disappointed with my history with Langley toyota for other reasons. Now even more discouraged with JPatty.
