Also at Country Hills...they made me wait twice a bit too long and gave my oil change and tire rotation free as a "sorry" which is always nice...annual service incentives mean very little to me when I purchase a truck.

Ya ill probably keep it up for a while, but the whole 'maintenance check' is just a money grab. saving $50 every 8000 km is not much of an incentive, but having the all services done if I ever need it for resale is

In Lethbridge, Jorge was okay to deal with. Reid took care of me went I went in to order the truck. He was fantastic. Can't say enough nice things about their Finance guy (don't know how to spell his name, but it sounds like Stretchko). All in all, great.

My wife is friends with the finance guys sister lol. He's a good guy. So is Reid. I can't find my original post but I'd avoid Jorge if at all possible. He lost a sale to us last year when we chose a competitor and we felt that he made our 2016 test drive day very uncomfortable over it... I'm saying that nicely because Tim, Reid, and Stretch all stepped up when I wrote in a complaint about the experience.

I emailed the Internet sales manager -Mike Linterman and threw around Jason McVicar's name along with this thread and forum link.

I can confirm that he can do the same pricing for me and my buying timeline is early spring 2016.

To confirm. 1. You want to buy the truck in spring and got the deal OR 2. You got the deal but the dealer won't get your truck until spring.

mike was super good to deal with. Big discount, no documentation or any other bs fees and free oil changes.

Three emails and it was done. New truck arrives dec 20!

    Painless!

The local/ regional economy is the barometer for deals on these trucks.

also the used prices for tacoma are very high as the us dealers are buying them up and taking them south. This was a big factor in getting a new tacoma.

I have CH locked in at $2200 off msrp...really hard not to look up at Edmonton for that bigger discount, but I figure by the time I get there and back, etc, the price will be the same.:burnrubber:
I have been recently told if I order my inferno TRD sport auto upgraded package today, it would take 1.5 months to get here! Ugh!

Agreed, with the Alberta economy in the toilet there are going to be a lot less trucks being sold....

When you guys take 2K off MSRP are you talking total paid before or after taxes and delivery?

I just drove by Lethbridge Toyota for work and saw the truck I'd buy if I needed a new one. A 2016 TRD Offroad AC automatic. The truck is ~38,500 MSRP on the sticker and just over ~41K after shipping, AMVAC, and tire fees. So after GST that's ~43K.

So would 2K off be 41K... or are people actually getting there trucks for less. There's no way I could justify spending 43K on the Tacoma right now, and even if I needed a new truck that's an aweful lot of money at 41K for a V6 Toy.

I build the entire truck online, ensuring the tire and levie box is checked, and all details are inputted such as 36 month finance with $35,000 down. My truck ALL IN is $45,200 (after tax, block heater... everything. I offered $42,500 and they seem to want to play ball...so if that is the case...all I'm waiting for is for my 2012 Taco to sell!

Yeah that sounds right. There is about 3K difference between a TRD premium and a TRD OR on let... so I'd guess around 40K for a 43K TRD OR would be the best the dealer could do. Ouch. That's a bit over 3K more for a truck with a smaller cab than mine just to get the TRD OR package 3 years later. It is what it is... but ouch.

My thoughts exactly. I was thinking the truck would be worth about 41K after taxes ON THE STICKER. Maybe then about 37K OTD, but that sounds about 3K to low with the new prices... I guess I certainly will be driving my 2013 right into the ground... and if Ford has a better deal at that point on the new Ranger it'll be tough to stay with Toyota. That makes me sad.

Agreed. Not to brag, while I have the means to go into the dealership and plunk down that amount in cash, there comes a point that paying that much for a midsized truck is just much for me on the principal of it.

I'm thinking those trucks might be on the lot for some time at those prices .

But....i am a true believer (if you can afford it that is)...there is a tipping point for value and servicing cost on a truck. My 2012 will be due for many services soon including new tires. I don't even want to get close to the 100,000 km on the odometer...that will lower the resale value drastically. My 2012 can maybe fetch $30,000 right now (well, I'm getting lots of interest, havent closed yet), but I'm liking the value I'm getting on these vehicles. This will be my 5th taco

BTW the new 2016 TRD OR in orange with the black flares looks amazing. Much better than the DCLB automatic sports.

@Kathryn I have a question for you. Did you finance through Lethbridge Toyota? If you did do you know your total cost if you pay out the truck over the time period specified? It seems like with these truck prices that's a lot of money or did you get some more money back from Lethbridge to cover that cost?

    Yeah.

I know this isn't totally on topic but Davis GM I guess let a few people go. At least that's what I heard through a friend. Trucks sales are going off a cliff with the down turn in oil. Two local companies that do oilfield maintenance just declared bankruptcy... that's about 20 trucks that will not be replaced every 2 years.
