In the USA, Toyota will only sell NEW vehicles to US residents. I suspect Toyota Canada will only sell NEW to a Canadian resident. You should be aware that Canadian vehicles may be equipped differently. I know in Canada that the Entune is not active on my 2017 Tacoma. It may have changed for 2018-19 models. You may need to get some things (safety, emissions, labels etc.) changed or modified for import to US.

You would need to do a lot of research first. I don't know how taxes would be handled, assuming you could even buy a vehicle.

Build & Price is live for 2019 Tacoma at toyota.ca

First thing I checked was if anything changed for 2019 in terms of the TRD option packages. Doesn't look like it. In 2018 the manual transmission TRD Sport DCSB only came 1 way (loaded with all the upgrade package stuff that's in the TRD Sport Upgrade package on automatics - leather, moonroof). I suspect it's the same for 2019, despite the specs page saying that Leather/moonroof is not available on the "base" truck.... I believe it's "not available as an option, because it's standard on the manual truck that only comes 1 way"....

I'll say it again. I want a Double Cab, manual transmission 4x4 Tacoma. But I don't need leather, Qi, Blindspot monitoring, and most importantly since I'm tall - I need a truck without a sunroof. I wish Toyota would sell the "base" package again like it was offered in 2016 and not force 1 loaded configuration on people that want a manual.

A lot of times you can only get a manual transmission on the base models with no options.

    ^^^^^

I'm glad Toyota is one of last manufacturer to offer M/T on high end models.

I think TRD Pro in M/T doesn't come with moonroof, JBL, BSM and Qi but I might be mistaken, there seems to be contradictory info on the website regarding this.

Yup me too. I would have preferred to get a double cab TRD Offroad or Sport with manual but without all the extras like a sunroof or leather. The sunroof is a deal breaker for me because my head bangs against the ceiling/headliner of the truck.

So I needed to get an access cab TRD offroad....

I am glad too. I have passed over purchasing a vehicle before because you could only get a manual with the bottom level model.

Anyone knows if the 25% tariff on steel applies when importing finished products like skid plates, bumpers and rocksliders?

Are you selling steel to the states? The tarriffs are for canadian companies selling in the states.

Where have you heen hiding the last few months? Canada applied counter tariffs when importing steel and other goods from the US. 25% on steel, 10% on aluminum and other goods like pickles and bourbon.

There is a list but it's kind of not giving much of an answer and from what I can read, there doesnt seem to be any tariffs on finished steel products like what we would put on our trucks, but then again I don't really want to take the chance to see a huge 25% import taxe applied when the sliders I'd buy pass the border.

I just wanted to know if anyone here imported something like and saw any tariffs applied or not.

. We are countering their 25 steel and 10 alu by imposing tarriffs on a long list of products from the states. Can you source where it says any different? I'm not finding it? I can't really trust the Huffington Post extremely vague list

    Finally found the official list
    https://www.fin.gc.ca/access/tt-it/cacsap-cmpcaa-1-eng.asp

    Also this doesn't include duties.

This is the same list I was talking about, hence my questioning. Basically, anything on that list you are buying from the the states will have a 25% or 10% tariffs applied to it when crossing the border, paid by the importer.

I have not yet had this done. I am not directly in Edmonton. I was hoping Mike from Mayfield Toyota could give us a quick answer before I bother going to the dealer and deal with their confusion of what I was talking about.

Anyone in Alberta had it done at a dealership?

Talk to Joanne at Gateway Toyota, said I had a stumble, asked to run a health check and apply the update. No issues.

They also disabled my seat belt chime for me.

I had the update applied at West Coast Toyota in Pitt Meadows, BC.

Truck feels 'heavier' now, L/100km is pretty similar in city and highway driving, upgraded from 4b11, overall not a huge difference in feel to me besides the heaviness.

Any recommendations for a Toyota dealer in Alberta? Specifically Edmonton area but i'm not opposed to traveling if a dealership actually puts Tacomas on sale

I got mine at Sherwood Park Toyota.
Most of their sales team are decent.
So far I haven’t been a huge fan of their service dept. though.
