I got mine at Mayfield Toyota. I have no big complaints with them. TacomaWorld member Mike Linterman works there.

    How’s Mayfield’s parts department?
Everytime I get a quote from SP Toyota their prices are bonkers.

I find TacomaTown online (Cochrane) decent for parts. Decent selection in stock.

Other than a bed mat, I have not really had any dealings with them. I can't honestly say how their prices compare. If their service prices are any indication, I suspect that they are not all that competitive.

    Good to know.
I’m just looking to replace my chrome grille surround with a black one and don’t want to pay $200 for a cosmetic dealy.

While I did not purchase my truck from them, I find Heninger in Calgary good for service (at least the warranty service and small parts like oil filters that I purchased from them).

I do most of the service on my truck myself.

Hey guys, just noticed this thread. I just got my 2017 Taco a couple months ago.

I am in Victoria BC but ended up purchasing my truck in August from Cobourg, Ontario and having it rail shipped out to Vancouver. I get it serviced now at my local dealership. I got a Pro through and got it used as a 1 year lease return.

Saved me over $10,000 getting the Pro new and I got the colour I wanted. With the increased rarity of the Pro in Canada it was the best deal I could get and none were available west of Ontario at the time.

When I was shopping for ours, Toyota on the Trail was the only place that would give me what I wanted for trade in, plus what i was willing to pay for the truck. Get all my service done with Joanne at Gateway though, cause she's awesome.

Tacoma Town is the best I've found for parts

Thanks for the heads up. But I do not have a stumble at all. I have the surge in power when accelerating and reach 3-4K rpm. Feels like a turbocharger vehicle reaching boost.

I didn't have a stumble either, or really much of a surge, in fact I always felt it was fairly smooth, I just asked her if she would just run the health check and apply the update, she just said she needed a cause in order to push it through warranty.

Where did the term "health check" come from - Joanne or yourself? I just want to be sure what to ask for. I've never heard the term "health check" and was worried they would not know what I'm talking about.

Cost me just over $1300 from Toronto to Vancouver. Lumped it in with the purchase financing.

Health Check is a function of Tech Stream, it's what will show that there is an update available.

You will probably have to pay, but if it was more then 1/2 hour labour I would be surprised.

New software done! Jimmy P’s Toyota Surrey.

Before I say yes.... I shift my in the following way; 1st gear to 2600 rpm, which dropped rpm down to 1900-2050 when I get it in 2nd. Pickup in 2nd at that range is pretty crappy if you are trying to go somewhere quick. Second part in 6th gear on highway at 2100rpm you can accelerate to pass but you know it will take time. You so can choose to down shift and wait or drop a gear .

First part - yes the truck has more kick in for 1-2 shifts as above rpm. Doesn’t feel like it is struggling. It still has the “v-tech kick” but that seems to come at higher rpm than before.

Second part - flat highway 6th gear cruising to pass - acceleration is better - not by a jaw dropping amount, but enough it feels like you can skip the down shift.

Now it could be the case that it’s just the ecu relearning how I drive and just giving me everything until it dials it back. But on the other hand I have 300lbs of steel armour on my truck plus tires and lifted.

Overall happy with the free mod. I had b1100 prior to update.
