I went to Port Moody BC yesterday for my 8000k , complained about my tranny they were cool with the TSB I showed them wrote it down on the service order. After 4 hours they said could not get the TSB to work on two different laptops. So they inspected my truck manually found the tranny low by .5 quart.
No difference for me that's noticeable. I am having issues with it upshifting from 3-4 or 2-3 not sure what gear its in.
Made in Texas Model with a model listed under the TSB.
I am hopeful the reflash works for me but either way I LOVE MY FUCKING TRUCK!

So it sounds like the dealers can find and download but not get it to work ? Not sure anyone else have a similar story?

Do you need to know, or care?
I wrote them and this was their response.

Thank you for your recent correspondence.

When it is necessary for Toyota Canada to issue special service campaigns for vehicles, owners of affected vehicles are notified by mail. Our records indicate that as of today's date, there are no outstanding campaigns on your 2016 Tacoma.

Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) describe specific symptoms that some vehicles may exhibit, and outline the procedure for repairing the condition. Technicians will check for TSBs on the vehicle if the owner has complained about a specific condition; however, since they are used only as a diagnostic tool, it is not routine practice to look for all TSBs when a vehicle comes in for service. Because the TSB is used only as a diagnostic tool, repairs completed with reference to these are not considered warrantable if the vehicle's original warranty has expired, or the repair is not covered under warranty.

If you have any additional concerns, we suggest that you direct them to our Customer Assistance Centre at 1-888-869-6828 (select option '1' for English, then option '4').

So I called them and filed a case study. Guy on the phone said "We already responded by email"...I said "and it said to call you if I have additional concerns, I do!"..then blah-blah-blah, we'll put it on file.

Just got their second response and like you said...go pound salt"...!!

Here is what they said...In reverse order... start at the bottom....

    Thank you for your reply.

Please be assured that it is our goal to assist our customers whenever possible; however, our Customer Assistance Centre is not equipped to provide the technical information that you require. Mark...

Thanx for your "form letter" and off-topic response.

You did not answer my question. I'm not asking you to diagnose my
vehicle.... Of course you cannot tell me what is wrong with my vehicle over
    E-Mail...!!!

I asked.... "is Toyota Canada going to release a TSB similar to the one
    released in the USA (T-SB-0077-16)...!"

Why is it so hard to get someone to answer a simple question...??

As you can appreciate, we are unable to provide a diagnosis of your vehicle

So WTF…the US is getting their TSB looked at, resulting in raving reviews, yet we can't even get them to admit there is an issue??? This sounds like my ongoing issue trying to convince my dealership (Country Hills Toyota) I have a shaking problem! Frick!

So I just got back from Jacksons Toyota in Barrie. I had a loud windshield wiper noise and I wanted them to check my tranny fluid levels. They did both without any difficulty. I come back after 3 hours and was told tranny fluid was low, he said they all are and for some reason the factory is purposely putting less in for some reason. He tried to convince me that having low tranny fluid wouldn't hurt anything. Weird how my drive home felt much smoother with shifting. Regardless he added 3/4 of a litre. Now the windshield wiper noise he checked everything out and saw nothing loose or broken. He said someone a few bays down had another 3rd generation taco and he checked the wipers in that and supposedly they made the same noise so they just claim its normal. Not happy about that. I told him I've been in others that you don't even hear at all. And he just came up with some shit answer. Tell me how many of you guys have wipers making this noise? https://youtu.be/HKFWVQfkxYA

Should I reconsider my plan to purchase a 2017 until some of these issues seem to be taken seriously by Toyota Canada?

Hey Bert... stay on those assholes... that wiper issue sounds like a 1954 Chevy (vacuum) system.. I know you are too young to know what I mean, but it needs to be fixed.. Just ain't right... Mine don't do that..

And yeah.. until the TSB is released for Canada.. we are f'd..

Saw another thread. the TSB might be here today..

Whoopeeee... Make sure you present your problem as the TSB says or you WILL get "the bums rush"...

In all seriousness though my truck does shift a lot smoother with the tranny fluid topped up. I'm not really fighting for the tsb. I just hear good things about to so I inquired about it.

John, the wiper thing did piss me off. If he had of gone to every taco on the lot and they all made that noise I would have felt a little better about it. He just said oh cause that one does it it must be normal.

My truck is in at the dealership today for the TSB. The guy at the service counter took my printed copy of the TSB and stapled it to the service request, but I'm not totally convinced he understood what it even was.

I put a note asking for the tech to call me, we'll wait and see I guess.

I didn't talk to a knowledgeable manager (tried emailing him first, on vacation). I just talked to the service bookings guy at the desk. He seemed to not know what a TSB was and looked at my past file (fluid check and trans re-flash) and said "oh yeah, they did this ECM thing last time". I had to explain it was a new program and not a RE-program.

No call as of yet from the tech.

Also waiting to see how @Zeeks82 makes out.
