    Hello Fellow Canucks,

Thought I would put my first post in the Canadian Thread.....
I bought my 2016 Tacoma Off Road in early June, and I'm really loving it. Judging by the automatic trans comments, I'm also really glad I went with the manual 6 speed trans.
    Here's a few images:

Looking forward to learning more about the truck, at least the good stuff anyway.

    cheers

Called jacksons Toyota (in Barrie) asked about the tsb. The lady receptionist had no idea what it was and transferred me to the manager. He went over the issues listed on the tsb and asked if I wanted it done and I said yes. No issues, he was very easy going. Scheduled for next Friday. I'll let you guys know if I notice a huge difference.

Collingwood Toyota called me today telling about the TSB and said they would do it when my truck goes in next weekend.

I think / feel the dealers seem to be pushing the ECU update out to as many people as possible as quickly and as quietly as possible to avoid any future class action lawsuit.

Update on Trans:TSB TCI-4419 applied to my truck,The transmission now holds the appropriate gear for the amount of power applied, not constantly hunting between 4-6 on the highway..Cruise control is shifting down on the hills but now when the truck crests the hills it will shift back up to 6th within a few seconds, before my truck would stay in 5th and never up shift to 6th.Around town the trans in smoother, less hunting for gears but is still a little sluggish, all the power is above 2300 RPM. Also IT appears that engine RPM has increased since the TSB was applied, before the engine was at about 1400 RPM give or take at 100km,now the engine is at 1600 RPM give or take at 100km!A big improvement but time will tell if the ECM will learn and keep the TSB that was installed !

I wonder if we will get money back for our truck not being as good on fuel as advertised now that it seems to rev higher with the TSB?

Oh this is good news, mine hunts for gears all the time and is driving me nuts. Is there a downloadable TSB for canada? I have the number just no idea where to download it in Canada. I'd like to bring it in with me at my service apt.

    Thanks

    Steve

As expected dealer has no clue what this is Unfortunately, I don't have that kind of time to argue with them. Thy say there is no tsb under that number.

Anyone have a copy of this in pdf so I can show it to them. My vin # is listed in the US TSB.

    FYI

Looks like the TRD Pro will be about $47k manual and 49k automatic based on exchange rates and Canadian freight charges. I didn't think it would exceed the top level LTD but it looks like it will.

    That's a lot of tamales.

Do you need to know, or care?
I'm not surprised. As far as options go, not a big difference between the Limited and the Pro. Sunroof/JBL from what I've heard. But those suspension upgrades are worth $'s, plus the added crawl. Then throw a few more bucks in for exclusivity (aka braggin' rights)

Not to mention that "Pro" emblem on the doors. Must have cost an arm and a leg for that size emblem

The math I did worked out similarly. If you take the exchange rate difference and then divide it by about half, which is what Toyota did for almost the entire rest of the Tacoma line up, you end up with those prices...

However I wouldn't be shocked to see a price over $50K MSRP on a PRO. Whether that includes a dealer markup or just some diddling to ass pound the kiddos who need a Pro for life who knows, I don't think just under $60K is crazy for an OTD price that we could actually see. Finance that with the 3.9% rates and you're shiny new Pro could cost you more than a Raptor easily.
