Makes total sense. I know a bunch of guys on here though keep talking about waiting until they hit the road to buy one. Odds are if you do that you'll be waiting for the same reasons we both mentioned.

Yup mine is the same way after the update. Its better, but still shifts up to quick before i'm done accelerating, and also did a weird 4th gear hang going up a pretty big hill.

Just a thought guys... Check the tranny fluid level.... Mine was 3/4 liter low (I checked it--dealer would not)... and was doing the cruise hang in 4th thingy... I'm going to have the TSB done soon, but I personally think that the tranny fluid should be "FULL" before the TSB applied... Just saying for those of you that have not checked it yet... (I don't think there was 1 Taco that came from the factory with a full tranny)...!!
    Just me maybe..???

No, I don't think it is just you. Think it's all of us, but maybe the 2017's will be different.

Ya, I had it checked/filled a while back.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with the truck. I was happy with it before and am happier with it now. I just think the TSB hype is getting a little overblown.

Ya, I've had a couple minor issues, but nothing worth getting rid of the truck and bitchin' in multiple threads. Haven't had the tranny's TSB done yet, but think that would clear up all outstanding issues.

I was just curious where are you guys buying your tonneau covers and accessories?

I am in the Vancouver area am looking for either a BakFlip G2 or an Undercover Lux.

This far I have only found Lordco and Cap It.

    Thanks

I'm just curious as I have seen this a few times, when you guys are testing it are you using a computer to get the transmission up to the proper temperature and then filling it or are you filling it cold just sitting there?

Get the Bak Flip HD, it might be more money but it won't dent if you drop something on it or if there is any kind of hail outside. In Edmonton, we get all of ours from ProTruck

Well...I was sure my tranny was low...so I did not waste my time bringing it up to temp to find out that I was right all along, and not see ANY fluid come out, because that meant I'd have to do it again tomorrow after it's all cooled down. (My driveway is sloped and it was a "bugger" to get the vehicle up on ramps and 2x6's to level it so... I was NOT gonna do that twice...
I started by adding 1 liter of fluid and then went thru the temp thing and then pulled the check plug... Only 1/4 liter came out.....It held onto the other 3/4 liter... This way, you only have to mess with it once..... If you are not really sure if it's low you can check today and fill tomorrow if you want, but I was sure it was low and only did it once....

    Good luck with it..

Ah ok, the only reason I ask was when I talked to the Mechanic here he said that if you don't get it up to the right temperature when you fill it, it can cause it to spray fluid everywhere if it is over filled. As the temperature goes up the liquid expands, i'm more just curious if they check it the right way if it still would have needed the 3/4L. I know there has been a lot of positive feedback about the TSB for the shifting though.

Lethbridge Toyota just told me a TRD Pro will be 55k plus taxes. Can anyone of the dealers on here confirm. That seems steep.

So yeah, here is the good news guys:

The pricing you will see here does not include the Freight/PDI, block heater or Air/Tire Tax and GST/PST/HST. For the TRD Pro models they are the T Sfx
