I called my local dealership today to price out the OEM Lift Kit. They asked me my VIN, which is normal. Then they told me that since my Taco was made in Canada, the OEM Lift Kit may not fit my truck. Has anyone heard this before? Is the parts guy pulling my chain???

I thought Tacoma’s were manufactured in Texas and Mexico?

Toyota never made a Tacoma in Canada, the guy at the dealership doesn't know what he is talking about.

I was considering the OEM Lift Kit since it comes with PRO grill. But you are right, there are better options out there.

I just checked my sticker and it says, "Final Assembly Point: Guanajuato, Mexico." The parts guy is wrong. Making a mental note NOT to go there ever.

3rd gens have a different spring rate, they sit about 1" higher. New motor etc is heavier and they are a bit more level OE.

I know you checked your sticker - in the future, you can just plug your VIN in here: https://www.toyota.com/owners/my-vehicle/vehicle-specification
and it will give you all the original information. I use this all the time while shopping for new trucks to see what they are optioned with.

To expand on that, Toyota has only certified this for certain wheelbase or truck configurations.upload_2021-4-27_13-28-0.jpg

Should've hung up and then called the sales department immediately. Say you're selling a one of a kind, Made in Canada, Tacoma. You want $60k, won't accept anything lower. Only 1 in the whole world. Tell them to talk with that parts guy for the details on truck.

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
Might help to give the parts guy a bit of an education - nicely of course. Maybe he/she will appreciate the heads up in a future encounter.
