What confuses me is your rate of 2.99% is an outside source so shouldn't be affected by things like model popularity so it's weird the dealer could use that outside source then yet not now. Having worked at a bank I agree you'll usually do better through the dealerships. As stupid as this sounds if I had customers come in to the bank I would tell them to go to the dealership and when the dealer used our back end dealer loan centre they'd be able to get better rates than I could in branch. I guess I'll just try waiting it out a little and see if the rates come down.

Do you need to know, or care?
Honestly, you would have better insight than me. The loans person at the dealership told me she had years of experience as a loan officer in a bank. She asked me which bank I dealt with. I told her who and where, heck even told her the branch Manager's name (we know each other on a first name basis). She got back to me and said I got you a much better rate, so I jumped on it. I'm not sure what she did in the background, but I guess it worked out for me.

In the states, you can write off that interest rate on your taxes! LOL. Canada sucks us dry with taxes.

Pending your credit, I can get you 3.99% up to almost 84 months.

How, through a dealer? If so does getting a lower rate required a buy down, like am I giving up potential discount on the truck to get a lower rate like a mortgage or does the dealer get the same kickback regardless of rate?

It is a rate offered by 2 of the banks right now. We don't need to buy it down. However, like I mentioned it would be pending your credit history.

So just test drove a TRD Off-road AccessCab. Really loved it. I need the 6ft bed for work. My sales person mentioned that you could get a TRD sport in a Double Cab w/ 6ft bed? I thought that wasn't a possibility here in Canada? Did I read the brochure incorrectly?

I really do prefer the look and the extra goodies of the off-road, but wouldn't mind a double cab for the future when the wife and I have kids.

I was in the same boat, I wanted the 6ft bed double cab, so that crossed off the Off road and the manual transmission. Off Road only comes in access cab and you can't get the manual with a 6ft bed.

I want my double cab 6ft bed 6spd Off Road ! I can't be the only one?

Totally agree. That's exactly how I'd order my Off-Road.

Is there a option for a DCLB TRD Sport in Canada?

Yes, it's what I have. Comes with the automatic tranny though, manual transmission has a 5' bed in the Sport.

Yup, one of the reasons why I went auto.

Need the bed length more than I want a manual transmission, plus driving mostly in town with a stick can be a pain.

How do you find the DCLB in tight spaces? I didn't mind the size of the AccessCab what so ever.

I have no issues with it. But I did come from a Double cab long bed F150, so this thing is a piece of cake. Actually this truck has a great turing radius for a 4wd.

Don't have any issue at all! The backup camera helps a ton, don't even have the sensors but don't feel I need them.

Haven't felt the truck was too long at all!

Hmm. I really like all the off-road goodies the TRD Off-road has to offer. Really wish Canada would offer a TRD Off-road DCLB. I'll take a Sport DCLB for a spin and see how it goes. I'm coming from a Golf TDI Sportwagan so even the relatively small AccessCab Long Box feels huge initially.

This will also be my first vehicle not equipped with a manual transmission. I know we are actually lucky enough here to have the option of a manual Off-road AccessCab, but being my work truck, I'd prefer to not deal with a dead clutch leg after my commute into and out of the downtown Toronto core.

I've now heard the "rumour" from a couple different people that Toyota Canada will be offering a DCSB AT at some point. Anybody else hear that? The Off-road model in DCSB AT configuration is about the only thing that would push me into a new one.

Yes it has been mentioned in the other "Canadian thread" by a Toyota sales guy who seems to know what's available for 2017.
