Agreed. The question is, how many additional fees are being piled upon the above prices. I'm not interesting in paying 40k for a DCSB Sport.

I always work in "all in" pricing. With the values of the trucks MSRP now know throw in $1Kish for delivery and 5% on top of the total for GST. That's your true all in out of pocket price. Work back $2K off that. There's the price you might want to call your "acceptable" price. So start somewhere below that and see if you end up there.

The other option, which is better sometimes, is to send an email to every dealer within 50 km's asking for an OTD taxes in price on a truck. If none of them come off MSRP you won't lose anything, but sometimes you find a desperate internet sales person who needs a sale that will throw you a tasty price in writing. That's basically how I got my truck. I found a person I knew who was desperate for a Tacoma sale and I bought a truck for my low initial offer. In hindsight I guess I should of offered even less

I actually did this for my wife's car. Ended up buying it 200km away, but the price was too good to pass up. They gave me what I wanted without negotiating.

Yup. Start blasting out the emails and, if that doesn't work, walk in and play hard ball. The trick is to walk away if the deal isn't there though if you end up at the dealership. Some salespeople and dealerships won't move on the 2016, of that you can be sure, but some likely will.

I'm with you, but just the colour and model I want is in the second release to Toyotatown in Langley. They're likely getting a bunch in their first delivery but I wanted the grey or white and the Sport Upgrade is in the second shipment they're getting.

At least I know the price now, it's around what I expected - going to see if i can get a few extras from the dealership. All season floor mats, bed mat, maybe help on the aftermarket leather - I doubt they'll throw in the tonneau cover I want but it can't hurt to ask!

wow that's a big jump for the limited. Sales manager to me 1.5 months ago "we don't know pricing yet, but we are expecting it to be very similar to the 2015's".
A 10% increase......that probably pushes me right out of buying one. Not necessarily on a total dollar basis, but on what I can get for that same dollar. A Tacoma, although is what I wanted, cannot be justified at a starting price before all other fees and GST at $45k. Yikes. 2015......maybe I'll start looking at you again.

No kidding, I just sent an email to my salesman asking him what's going on, he is going to have to do better than the $2000.00 of off MSRP promised especially since he said there is no way there will be a $4000.00 increase, and I have that in writing. Ford, we may be about to start an intimate relationship!

Ok, so I went to toyota.ca to price compare models and really outside of the Limited the increase is pretty reasonable.

2015 TRD Sport Premium package runs $39,535 MSRP.
2016 TRD SPORT UPGRADE PACKAGE $40,585 MSRP. from above pricelist

That's $1050, which due to the upgrades and low Canadian dollar is pretty fair. Unless I screwed up in my comparison! I chose this package because that's what I have on order. I'm fine with that moderate increase., but shhhh don't tell the dealer - I'm still going to push for some accessories!

The Limited is where it seems to jump substantially, not sure why but it doesn't seem worth it to me.

Yeah, just my luck, the one I like has the biggest jump!

What is it about the Limited that you like above the Sport Premium?

Yeah, I think the Sport didn't move much because:

    A) There was already a price adjustment in 2014 when they created the premium packages in Canada.
    B) It's the most popular model and has the highest market share.

For example, IIRC, the sticker on my TRD Sport in 2013 was right around $36K. A 2015 with the same options had already jumped $2K due to the price adjustments made for the TRD Sport Premium. Add on the extra $1K for the new Sport and you are talking about the same jump the limited had.

I just liked the trim level, but may have to broaden my horizons.

Ok, I see what you're saying!

The only other issue I see is when you (try) and compare the US pricing on comparable models ZIP 98230 (closest to me).
Sport with Premium Upgrade runs $38,220
    Limited runs $39,370

Now I believe that's a short bed in the US for the Limited but the pricing is much closer. Just wondering why such a difference between the Limited in Canada compared to the Sport with an upgrade.
