Are toyota nuts???? As great as the trucks are...who in their right mind would spend over 50k on a stock one.

When I was talking to the Sales Rep and his Manager I think they were thinking the same thing.

Toyota is literally forcing people to look around at what else is out there for 50K.

I mean if that price is the new reality with the Canadian Peso then there are a lot of other trucks in that category that come with a lot more features that at least deserve a look.

I agree 100%. Those trucks may not have the reliability or resale but I can overlook that when I'm looking at these prices.

For $52K you can buy an F150 Platinum after wheeling and dealing. Who da frack wants the Limited Tacoma when you can have that at the same price. Hopefully Toyota left some room in that price for the dealer to play with.

Dude, this Toyota. You might get a couple of oil filters and if you are lucky a driver's side floor mat......

Common man. The Ford has real leather on the leather on top of real leather! Heated and cooled power seats.... WTF Toyota?

Supposed to be a few dozen coming into Edmonton this weekend, I look forward to checking them out in person. They have a few on the lot already, still all in plastic and not PDI'd however....

A King Ranch is in the mid $50k range with rebates. Not really a price equivilent comparison.

Although, Toyota does suck with interiors. I'm still waiting for a Taco to show up in my area to go look at but the pics of the new interior suck. Absolutely hideous. Ford wins the interior contest even with their XL trim.

I've just managed to waste 15 mins looking at the specs....so this 1500lb payload I've been hearing about..actually translates to 900lb on all the dc models....so take off my weight I can only carry 13 x 55lb of concrete. Does this seem reasonable? ?

Really? Those things are close to $70K. I used their online build tool to build a crew cab Lariat with power folding mirror package and it came to $55K with a 5.5' bed, plus freight and tax. Their "delivery allowance" (discount) was only $1200. Back in the summer, when I was seriously looking at an F150, with their employee pricing (-$6K) and "delivery allowance" -$4K, that was $10,000 discounted price, but I'd have to factory order it (another $500 discount). I'm just not confident with the long term (15 year ownership) reliability of the twin scroll turbo and I don't want or need a V8. Ford put all their eggs in the turbo basket. The normally aspirated V6 is not available in the upper trim levels. The discounts mentioned above were on the XLT volume seller.

I might have to look at the Sport model with the tech package.. but Ford is still tempting, it's just too damn big for my use.

Toyota puts up the 2016 on their website but no pricing info? Did they go full retard or do they fear the reaction people will have when seeing the high prices (like over $50K) for this truck?

Ford does their good pricing July to Oct every year. When I was looking I was offered around $17K off on their FX4 trucks in 2015, and those aren't even top of the line. I can see why they have been top vehicle in sales for like 50 years running now. You get a lot of vehicle for 30-40K with all those incentives. Right now it seems all the discounts are gone and they are pushing low rates instead.

Thanks for that.. I'm not buying anything anytime soon.. so I'll be watching closely Ford's pricing next summer and will wait to see if the end of the 2016 model year "red tag days" or whatever Toyota calls it, I'll have to see if they're going to be discounting the end of year Tacoma, but that's a year away and I can wait. My Honda is 14 years old, but only has 120K km on it. I'm just sick of it but not sick enough to spend $50K on a Tacoma.
