Question about audio. I got the DoubleCab TRD Sport, did anybody notice how the speakers in the back of truck seems to be significantly quieter than those in the front? I played around with the audio options and moved all sound in the back, and the volume seems to be really low compared to those in the front.

I noticed the same thing on my test drive, definitely biased way toward the front

I'm not sure. They are brushed aluminum. They were the only listing my dealer had. I can measure them later today for you.

What is the turn around time like for folks who had to factory order one? I've got a deal on a 2013 for 27k (trade in offer) and he is buying a 2016 but the dealer needs to order one the way he wants. Hoping to have before the snow flies here.

I ordered mine in July and just got it about a week ago, but mine was built before they would release it to me (dealer had to wait for Toyota's release) I think as long as there are some around the wait should not be too long. Here in the Toronto area some dealers have them in stock now.

I've decided to hold off on buying a 2016 for now. Dealers are being too stubborn with pricing and financing rates suck. There are generally sales around the holidays so we'll see.

Thanks for the info. There is a big price difference between 4 and 5 inch. For me the 4 inch works great and I think I paid around 360 for them. The 5 inch is nice but that's a lot of dough for side steps.

Really? at 2.5 to 3 percent? I think that's pretty nice actually. Most people don't pay attention but 0 percent financing is never 0 percent when there is a cash incentive rebate. Basically think of an ad where you see that, or currently do and that's technically your cost of borrowing which you can covert into a percent for a loan.

I agree with the OP…Il be putting down $35k, and would rather see 1.99% then 2.99 (48 months)…

Typically they drop rates in the New Year after everyone blows their wad at Christmas and the new model excitement has worn off.

Yea but that's like peanuts when you look at the cost of borrow line. It wasn't to long ago we saw 6 percent and thought that would never be that low! Now at 3 % people are loosing their minds that it's not a lease rate at 1.99 as you have said. I get it but 1 percent difference shouldn't really break the bank, especially at 35k down on lets say a 45k truck. 10k remaining at 3 percent is like $300 bucks vs $200. Think of it like 2 tanks of good gas.

Or 1 really nice dinner or 1 awesome night out at a bar....and even then that can be worse.

Toyota 5 year rates are near 4 percent and other companies are giving up bigger concessions at the negotiating table, so yes it's bad. I paid 1.9% interest on my Tacoma and received more than 2.5k off the price. If I was going to get another Tacoma I'd wait for the hype to die off and interest rates to fall off. The Tacoma has a higher rate over almost anything else because it's so new so they have the demand to ask for butthole stretching rates compared to almost every other major manufacturers financing

BTW drove a 2016 DCLB SR5 today. Basically the dealer had a promotion for Tacoma owners where we could test drive the new truck, eat some free food, have our Tacoma washed in their wash bay, and enter to win a Go Pro. Too bad my salesman was the same guy who lost a 4Runner sale to us he thought he had to the Ford dealer over an F150. He was bitter to even take my keys for the free wash and he wasn't helpful at all except for trying to make our test drive short. The drive overall is much better from this truck. Gear shifting seemed smoother, the suspension seemed better tuned for the road, and road noise was almost non existent. The engine power is fine but, without the ECT, it does feel a bit underpowered compared to the last gen. It's a nice truck and it's setup well for the average buyer. Unless the dealer follows though and knocks my socks off with an awesome trade on the white TRD OR AC that's coming in next week there isn't anything that would make me feel I need to trade in for a 2016.
