I bought a certified taco on Memorial day and paid for the extended warranty. Is there any way I can terminate it and get some of the money back?

As the others have said you should be able to...

I'm pretty sure, at least on a new purchase, Toyota will refund the cost if you've not used the warranty within a specific time period.

I'd be contacting Toyota for info asap.

    Best of luck,

It seems a little late, but I don't frankly know. However, at least around here, a Certified Used Toyota comes with a 100,000 warranty as part of the "Certified" package, so I'm not sure what you actually bought with your "extended warranty". I'd definitely have questions.

Most extended warranties are handle by third parties. You will need to speak with the Finance Manager (best if at the same dealer that you bought the car) and they will give you a cancellation request form to fill out and sign by you and by the FM. They will give you your money back but the last time I did this it took like 3 mths before I saw the check. The amount will most likely be prorated base on the time/mileage of the vehicle with respect to the warranty terms. Essentially, you will take a hit. But to answer your questions: Yes, you can cancel extended warranties. I've done it before.

You can cancel your warranty and receive part of the money spent. If you are handy this may be a good idea; but if not, I would encourage you to consider if this is best. Our trucks have a lot of electronics built in. One issue can cause far more than the cost of the warranty.

Certified used Toyotas have a 12 month/12k mile comprehensive and a 100,000 powertrain warranty which I am not sure the length of time but I think it's 5 years. The extended warranty the OP purchased is probably the platinum warranty that Toyota Financial offers but it is spendy on a certified used vehicle and you can't shop around since the vehicle is used. The warranty can only be purchased at the time of sale.
