CANCELLED - 2020 Lone Star Toyota Jamboree

So anybody know what that truggy started out as?
Looks like an old pickup/Hilux or 4runner mixed with a FJ and a bunch of tube steel lol

 

I'm not to sure, its the real deal tho! He will tell you all about it this year.

 

Got the email 2 days before Christmas. “No personal leave or furlough in the months of April or May this year”.

Really took the starch outta my sail for sure.

Yeah, what I said plus a little bit more.

 

It was a first gen 4runner that he rolled and when he fixed her back up with more exo cage he added the FJC grill/headlights. Its a clean rig. 1UZ (or2UZ) swapped. Tundra 10.5" diffs with Dana 60 outers. he beats on it regularly.

 

I wonder how much its going to cost this year? $250?

 

Think its been 150 the past 3 yrs. Probably around that this year also. @Naveronski might know.

*edit: I checked and the past 2 yrs my receipts say 151.55 we'll know for sure next week when tickets go on sale!

 

How's your tundra coming along?

 

i updated the thread on tundras. I got the engine/trans installed over the break. Going to get the t-case and exhaust in this evening.

 

Did you have to remove the stock tranny cross member or the mounts? Mines a little bent up

 

Nope. i reused them with the swap.

 

Darn. I think I need to just put my truck on a lift and hit the mount with a big hammer then

 

Looking at that, i dont know how the mount at the trans isnt fucked up. it needs to be wacked with a BFH and plated.

 

I talked to Nathan about welding a hoop to my bumper sometime before the Hidden Falls meet at the end of Feb. So maybe we can knock out both

I am doing a First Day Hike out at Tyler State Park from 1:00PM to 4:00PM.

Guess I will just register when I get back home from that lol.

 

I know I said I was going for sure this year since last year was my first year with a 4x4 and I still didn't make it. But it's going to be in the middle of the turnaround at work again. It's hard to justify spending a ton of money when I could be making a ton of OT and knowing there won't be much OT this year otherwise. I may just have to settle for Hidden Falls trips when I can til 2021.
