Cancelled My Extended Warranty VSA Today Due to Dealer Being Dishonest

To be fair, I bought a black truck because some clown smoked my Inferno at 50 plus miles an hour because he was texting and driving and didn't realize that a t-bone intersection means he has to slow down and make a turn.

anyway, this was after Black Friday 2 years ago so my options were pretty limited on what was available online. One dealership agreed to honor their Black Friday deals even though the sale was over and I got my MT. but if I had ordered a new truck or they had tried to dropship one from someone else they said they weren't really going to give me the Black Friday deal. My guess is they were just trying to get rid of inventory that didn't move, in this case a manual transmission that nobody wanted

 

Detail, wipe off dirt...its all the same to me if using a paper towel. I just wouldn't do it.

 

I'd actually say '10-out-of-10' ... I hate that whenever I buy a new rig, they try to pull this crap on me .. But you have to consider that they do the same thing to maybe .. Maybe a 20-something single girl .. Or little old lady, who they know is not gonna change their own oil/filter or do any kind of maint. on their own rig .. And to those buyers, they're probably happy as hell that the Toyota dealer is gonna fix any/everything. For an extra price. All that buyer cares about is starting their rig and driving. When a dealer offers them a 'deal' with 'For $XXXX .. We'll take care of you forEVER..' It's a good safety-blanket for them. Hey, if the buyer sleeps better at night, rock on.
I just hate when, as someone who used to rebuild engines 30 years before 'Mr. Warranty' was ever born, they treat you like yer a friggin' retard and try to beat you over the head as 'How stupid are YOU for not buying our awesome extended warranty??' shit.

They will have that 'Confused Dog Look' like when a dog hears something it doesn't understand. I really wanna see that. It's always classic.
Just beware that, some of the minor warranty stuff, they'll take a quick 'No' and move on .. The (Most expensive) thing they'll beat you over the head with is the 'computer/electronics' stuff. (When I bought my new rig in Sept. the extra warranty for that was $3,300)
They'll push HARD on that. Just so you know..

 

Yeah my truck is really dirty too, been more than a year and half since l last cleaned it properly.

My dad says the same thing. He is so proud that he never washes his 4runners, im serious when i say never. One is silver and one is MGM. They do look great though! Haha!

 

Its MGM, so it probably still looks brand new .

 

Would never buy an extended warranty on a newer vehicle. Only one I ever bought was my 1st ever brand new vehicle which was a 2007 Fusion AWD. 2nd model year of the Fusion and the 1st model year with AWD option and I was relatively young so I figured I'd go for it. 7yrs and 163k miles later and the only thing I used it for was a damaged driveshaft from me doing light off-roading it Dealer surprisingly fixed it under warranty and I think it was about $800 which helped offset the $1,200 I paid for it.

I have purchased 4 other new vehicles since and just tell them to not bother with selling me on anything. My favorite is when they try to bury the cost of the warranty under a longer loan term to make the monthly payments look cheaper. They'll tell you the lower monthly payment amount but not the fact it is extended which is very shady. I can see folks falling for that if they aren't paying attention.

Well, I used to detail cars and trucks at a dealership for a living, and one of the perks was that I got to detail my truck (and my parents' vehicles) in the shop on my days off; At the height of that brief career, I was bringing my truck in once a week! Nowadays, my truck gets an interior cleaning twice a month...

 

MGM honestly is alot like black, a PITA to keep clean but looks so damn good when it is.

 

I have intermittently cleaned my truck over the last year and a half, just not the way l would like.

 

My favorite colors on a Tacoma are Barcelona Red and Speedway Blue, along with MGM, and that Army Green they just came out with as well...

Also, I don't know if this makes sense, but certain colors don't fit certain trims while other colors are universal. For example, my truck's color (Silver Streak Mica) looks good on all trims; Super White looks good on trims. Barcelona Red looks best on SR5 trim and above, though I can live with it on a base model with black bumpers; Speedway Blue would not look good on a base model RC (or any cab/bed configuration for that matter) with the black trim, but if somebody lowered it, installed X-Runner wheels, and put on the color-matched bumpers and grille, it would look great!

There is this brownish gray color I've seen (not MGM) that I'm not too fond of, but I've seen in on base RCs and it doesn't look bad...

I think that is the Bronze looking MGM color.

 

That I don't like on a regular cab? It looks great on the TRD OR (Don't think I've ever seen a TRD Sport in that color; Check my "2nd Gen Stalking Thread"), but on base models it just clashes with the black bumpers. Even on SR5 models (which have colored bumpers), it just doesn't look right because the SR5 isn't particularly aggressive-looking...

 

Interesting. I guess i was wrong that my dads 2015 4runner is MGM. Its this dark gray color.

Is this same as MGM?

He never cleans it and it looks fine.
