Friend got a Beemer R9T Urban G/S after selling his converted CRF450. Cool factor is pretty high but like my FZ much more :)

I am super :jellydance: of his stock heated grips though

    I make...poor decisions when in A-mode :anonymous:

I’ve just been riding in standard mode lately and enjoying the ride instead of pegging it after every stop :)

Was able to get out and ride for about 30 min between work and firehouse but still waiting for better weather...

Also noticed the other day my chain got super rusty...I think the garage got some humidity and with not riding for weeks caused some rust. I scrubbed, cleaned, relubed it and got the majority but still have some surface rust. Anyone have ideas to get the remainder?

I might take a pic Thursday if I can

Do not wire brush a chain. You will ruin the O rings.

Just ride it. The rust will wear off. Keep it clean and lubed and ride it.

Finally nice enough to ride to work this morning. Supposed to be a rain shower around lunchtime but I couldn't wait anymore days to ride :)

Might see if I can tuck my bike somewhere in the shop while it's raining...

Spent an hour or so cleaning up my chain from the surface rust as much as could, as well as some corrosion on my rear sprocket (assuming aluminum). Got the chain looking pretty good after many passes with chain cleaner, scrubbing, and wiping, but the sprocket still has a lot of corrosion (to my eyes) and black crap. I may do some light passes with a stronger brush on the sprocket only since I don't want to mess the o-rings up on the chain.

I'm usually really good about chain maintenance so it just sucks I neglected it for a couple weeks while the bike was sitting in the garage and it got this bad.
