Some good looking bikes. Just glad to see something other than a HD

Manual calls for what I put, that's what I'll do. It is most likely overkill but I'm going to follow break in instructions to a T on something I just spent 10 grand on. You guys can do what you want.

I feel like @AR15xAR10 talking about this many oil changes

9 calls for 91+. I put 87 in the Ninja and never had problems, but the Ninja only called for 87 though.

have you read about the Cam Chain Tensioner issue? Im not sure if they fixed it on yours, but you can hear it on mine. Sometimes above the exhaust

Understandable. Hard break-in is the only thing I do differently than what the manual calls for.

My CRF250L calls for 91+ as well so that's what it gets. I'm surprised the FZ-07 doesn't, but I've tried 87, 89, 91, and 93 and didn't really notice any difference.

Haven't read about it...was it a recall? Yamaha said only open recall for mine was the handlebar mount

I'd run what it calls for. My bike requires premium so that's all I run. Sounds right to me.

not a recall, but an issue. Some people have put in a manual one, but not necessarily fixing the issue. Let me look for the other forum posts about it

I plan on only 91 also. Just ticked over 75 miles today, so only half a tank used.

I've always wanted too with mine never been able to get access to it to try. Is it a noticeable difference?

Fun stuff, I would just never go down in octane recommended grade. Up no problem esp after the break in, never during lol

I dont know. I could ask my neighbor who races KTMs to let me try some. I have tried ethanol free, and there was no difference

Separate note the ethanol stuff screws motors up these days esp if it sits ugh govt

I think if it sits for a very long period of time. Like over a year. I let my bike sit over winter, with no Stabil, and I had no issues this spring.

On the other hand, my neighbor has a 2000 ZXR1100, and he had to start his bike every week

No need. Its like going to a colder or hotter spark plug, its just not necessary in this application.

I look at compression ratios to see what fuel type to run. My bike is 11.3:1 I believe...so it'll always be filled with premium even though the manual says 87 is acceptable.

Also, the higher the octane, the lesser the ethanol content (usually).
