The cbr is a bitch to move around while sitting on compared to the drz as well. The wide sitting plus the extra 100+ lbs makes a noticeable difference

Drz has no fuel gauge. You use your trip meter or get gas every time you have to switch to reserve.

The 636 will have a fuel light, you go get gas when the light comes on. :p

Rode for about three minutes at 20* when I got home just so the bike doesn't sit for so long. I turned into a popsicle

Snow coming Friday-Saturday, and temps in the 30*'s for the foreseeable future :(

Got the shorty levers on. Nice change over the goofy stock lever style. It is about to snow storm down here so I won't have a chance to test them out for a while :(

Just kidding, I couldn't wait. Went for another two minute cold-as-balls ride to test them out...I like them, they have a nice feel.

one of the best mods i have done on my CBR. Best upgrade for sight was actually a HID in the headlight since the stock ones are so bad and not safe. MY 2007

Also just finished a COX radiator guard, had a buddy flick up a rock and hit his radiator on his 2009 ducati 848 and we were stranded for 3 hrs for a tow truck. then it was 900 for a new radiator! new guard was 85 bucks and really made sense.

Finally got out for a real ride today since it's about 60*. All the melting snow made go a bit slower than I wanted to in some areas but it was still nice to get out and ride.

The new clutch and brake levers did well.

I think the Yamaha Bolt is out for my next bike. Was watching reviews and it seems real sluggish for 950cc...some other quality issues such as a poor instrument gauge and lack of features lead me away from it, especially since it is about $8,000.

I've added the HD 1200 Custom as a cruiser option. Haven't done much looking at reviews for it, but it seems like a good option...I'll research it more as time goes on.

Tire pressure checked and chain tightened again. I am now having to tighten the chain about every 200 miles, so I may replace chain and sprockets within the next thousand or two miles, probably when it gets warmer.

You may be keeping it too tight and thus it keeps stretching. I cant see any other reason why you'd have this issue. It took 1000 miles for my original chain and sprockets to stretch. I've only adjusted them like 3 times in the 6000 miles since then. You also need to make sure that you don't run out of adjustment as well :)

be very careful on this and watch over tightening, i did that on my first cbr 600f4 and when i got on the free way and went around to pass the chain snapped and thank god flew off the side and missed my leg and all of the bike. Chain needs to be replaced if it keeps requiring tightening.

I am tightening it to approximately the middle of the OEM range.

My chain has 11K miles, about the time a chain can start needing to be replaced.

I'd pick up a new chain. Maybe new sprockets too.

I don't run one past 8k miles. My manuals said 8k and there was 10k on that one that broke

What I've read is that you should replace sprockets and chains simultaneously, but my sprocket doesn't look too bad from what I see...but what do I know ;)

I will probably go down to the shop again sometime soon and talk to some of the guys

Always do sprocket and chains. Basically it may look ok but I have seen people that just do a chain and it either eats up the chain quick or the sprockets. The last chain spent 8k miles fitting each other and wearing on each other.
