Pushed the new tire more today in some turns. Still didn't really notice a difference between the BT090's and my old S20's, which I guess is a good thing since the S20's were solid for the type of riding I do. Weather has cooled down so I'm going to be trying to ride some more. I really hate riding when I just drip with sweat as soon as I get on, it's just not enjoyable.

Noticed the other day that two out of four LED's for my license plate light were out on my Yoshimura bracket. Called up Yoshimura and since I was out of warranty they said I needed to buy the new LED piece, but the guy I talked to gave me a huge discount and I ended up getting it for around $35, rather than the normal $70 + shipping.

Unless they all go out, I'm not going to worry about putting the new piece on until the Springtime. Just too cold to be doing wiring :)

Got a little bit of riding in today after work. It was about 65*, middle of January :notsure:

Still need to do an oil change and clean the chain before winter gets worse. My girlfriend wants to watch since she likes learning more about cars/bikes so gotta wait for a time we're both available

I was out riding too. I need to get some oil closer to spring. Do you need to take your fairings off?

Nope, bolt underneath and reach in between headers behind the front wheel to get the filter.

Oil changed at 13,234. Mobil 1 Full Synthetic 10W-40 (Racing 4T) and K&N KN303 filter.

    Also waxed the chain.

Might even be warm enough to ride to work tomorrow :bikewheelie:

Too much work to get bundled up in the morning before work  I wake up at 7:20-7:30 and am out the door at 7:38.

I work late shift Mondays (starts 10a) though so I'll probably ride tomorrow

I know that feeling. I make myself take the time to get bundled up before a ride to work, but some days I just want to hop in the truck and go.

Finally warming up out here though. ~50 in the morning and almost 70 in the afternoon :D

Doesn't help that I don't truly wake up until about 8:30-9 so I don't feel like having to bundle up and put on a helmet and actually think while operating a vehicle, whereas in the truck, it's a lot easier to just go on "autopilot"

Went for a ride and somehow ended up at the local bike dealer

Decided to see what there appraisal was just for shits and giggles for a trade in...they finished and since the PO dropped the bike and scratched the fairing and bar end a bit, their cost to fix and re-sell wouldn't be worth it. So back to my original plan to private sale whenever I decide to.

I did sit on a couple bikes while there (FZ09, FZ10, WR250, DRZ, Z650, Bolt, etc) just to see. The WR is the planned next bike though. I'm just tall enough to put the front half of my foot on the ground while the other is on a peg. I can tippy toe both feet though if need be. I only put one foot down on my Ninja now anyway so wouldn't be a huge change (at least on the street).

    We'll see

I didn't like the seat of the F10. Its like the FJ seat. Maybe riding would be better, but I think thats alot of bike from you.

Other than the 09 and WR, I was sitting on the others just because.

I did like the look of the Z650 though.

Really pushed the "new" rear tire the other day. I was a little unsure at first since even after the break-in period, it still felt a little squirrelly and less "planted" than the old Bridgestone Hypersport S20's, but they seem to be getting better as I go.

Nothing really much planned as far as upgrades to the bike besides routine maintenance.

Is the light brown area on the edge my "chicken strip"? I've been working hard to improve body positioning and lean lately, as well as trying to push the limits of this tire to see how it compares to the S20 I had before, but didn't think I was leaning that much :notsure:

Nope haven't gotten that far. I usually just run the section of Gloucester between Claiborne and Belmont a couple times every time I ride since there's some good long curves there to really get the speed and lean in.

I think I'm going to ride up to Frederick MD sometime soon on one of my days off to check out a KTM 350 EXC-F since I've now researched it and want it instead of the WR now. Only drawback is that it's $4K more than the WR. However, all the reviews of the KTM I've read say they "wouldn't want any other bike".

Worrying about chicken strip riding on the street is the last thing you should ever concern yourself with. It'll just happen as you pick up skill.
