I was referring to the green light (headlights on), since we were talking about potatoes ;)

Noticed my tires were cupping pretty good on the outside when I did my rotation, indicating excessive positive toe, so I had my best alignment guy throw it on the rack today.

He was able to get it back to 0.3* camber (LF/RF), 2.6*, 2.5* caster, and -0.02* toe (LF/RF), which is pretty perfect for my setup. Caster could be closer to 3*, but that would have caused my camber to go out of spec so I was happy with 2.5+* caster.

    50,060 miles for my reference.

Same issue I was having a couple months ago is happening again. My headlights won’t shut off except when I physically disconnect the deutsch connector going to the ballast. Truck off, switch off, etc, lights stay on. The power wire goes directly to my battery then the ground goes to my BlueSea. I’ve got my mechanic friend looking at a wiring diagram tonight to see where it might be going wrong but I’m stumped.

Last time I just disconnected them a couple times I think and they worked fine. No changes with fuse/relay removals since they are wired to the battery and after that portion.

Friend thinks maybe stuck relay. Cheapest place to start so might try jiggling it or get a new one tmro.

Pulled relay and lights stay on. If I pull inline fuse to power wire to battery, lights turn off for a minute then turn back on. I'm stumped.

On a semi-unrelated note, can I wire my headlight power wire to my Blue Sea without any issues? I'm trying to get everything off wired directly to battery except for winch.

We put in a halogen bulb into my stock wiring harness and they operate normally so gonna chalk it up to a bad HID controller, which may also explain my other issue with the lights sometimes cutting out when I switch to high beams. Guess I gotta get a new one.

I had to get a new one at one point as well. The controller box went bad, not the ballasts. My headlights wouldnt turn on though, not off. IIRC the box wasnt much on trs website.

You can wire the headlights to the blue sea box. I think we didnt do it that way when installing because there was an extra fuse spot in the blue sea that we didnt have a fuse for so direct to the battery was the only way to get it working. If the blue sea is fused, i would think you could eliminate the extra fuse on the controller box positive lead.

Wait, so if you pull the inline fuse that feeds power from the battery to the controller box, the lights stay on? How the hell are they getting power? Thats some strange crap there.

Yup, they turned off for a couple seconds then returned from the dead and turned back on.

They stayed on regardless of headlight stalk position, relay in/out, all stock/in-line fuse in/out, door open/close, door pin switch jiggled/pushed, etc. Only way they would turn off was physically disconnect deutsch connector to ballasts.

Ordered new controller module, we'll see. My friend and I are going to do some re-wiring with the new battery terminals I have and do some general wiring cleanup since my battery area is a rats nest of wires right now.

I've been using my fogs as headlights for the past couple days :anonymous:

I had to do that a couple days. I had the acro driving lights and they did surprisingly well. People probably just think you forgot to turn on your headlights.

Hopefully the controller box fixes the gremlins. It did for mine at least. And when I contacted TRS the said the box I had was an old design that was prone to getting water penetration in it. Their newer box is tighter sealed, and comes with a warning message indicating not to mount it certain ways (I think they wanted the box pointed up with the wiring loom coming out toward the bottom)

New controller module fixed the issue, headlights working correctly now. I might order another controller module at some point just so I always have an extra, Morimoto sells just the controller for $10.

Sweet! Glad it worked. I thought they were about $30, but might have been mistaken. I knew they weren't super expensive.

I had contacted them through email about a week ago and asked if I could buy just the controller but they didn’t respond for a couple days so I ordered the whole harness for $50 so I could have headlights working. Right after my order had processed and shipped, they emailed me saying I could buy just the controller, but it was too late so I just told him I’d keep the harness as a back up. But I can order just the controller from now on so I may get an extra.

Initial impressions? How is the fit? I've been hunting for some seat covers and these are definitely on my list but I've been wanting to see what people think of the fit and durability.

Fit is pretty good, I didn't completely yank on everything to make it super tight but I think if you work the straps enough it could end up looking fairly wrinkle free.

Quality seems good, we'll see how they wear on the high traffic areas on the seats. Not exceptionally easy to install them so removing to wash/clean may be a rare chore. Ended up taking me about two hours to install front and rear with the headrest covers and console lid. I did have to reroute the driver side straps since I goofed the first time.

There is a final cinch strap for each front seat that ends up being basically under the seat track and in between the seat and the center console and it's a real B to get right since there's literally no space to put your hands.

Long story short I like them for now. Then again I wasn't looking for luxury seat covers, just something to cover up from crap.
