I actually have a jeep now. Imagine that.
i agree with the points it makes, however i am just afraid of the stupor that would ensue after legalization.

I smoked weed when I was in college and had minimum wage jobs.
I was NEVER addicted.....I NEVER tried any other drugs.....I was ALWAYS a functioning member of society.

Now that I'm older...nah....it don't appeal to me.

Now legalizing it.....hmmmmm.....I think I PERSONALLY have done more dangerous & stupid shit on alcohol than I EVER did smoking bud........I don't care either way if it's legal or not......just don't give me that "medicinal" shit.....I think that's a crock no matter what doctors say.

I smoked pot once in H.S.

Never had the desire to do it again.

i have ZERO issue with someone arguing for the legalization of pot...IF decent arguments are used

I dont feel its anymore useful than anything else in the medical field...it doesnt CURE shit...

Everyone keeps saying its better for you than this or that...but smoking a bowl or whatever method you use...smoking is STILL harmful to your lungs...

and i know...all you pro-pot folks are going to say use a vaporizor or eat it...but the majority of america and the majority of pot smokers arent going to do this...theyre going to go pack a bowl or roll a joint and get high

and regardless of whether or not its decriminalized...there will still be stronger stuff to be had in the black market...laced shit...strong shit...you and i both know that decriminalized weed will NOT be the good weed...

i grew up in a not so nice area...i spent several years smoking a LOT of pot...ive sold other drugs...ive seen just about any halfway popular drug either in production or just after...and this is all BEFORE i grew up and chose to NOT be a part of that...

Many of you argue that weed aint a gateway drug or whatever and that may be the case for you...but ive seen TOO many of my friends and people i grew up with "graduate" if you will...from weed to x to coke and so on down the line until theyre completely strung out and wastes of oxygen for someone to tell me that weed doesnt lead to other things

end up in and out of rehab facilities...they cant hold jobs...hell...theyre lucky if they live in one place for more than a couple months...many of them are no longer living

all of them started by just toking up on the weekends

    Nothing yet, brand new!
I can see it legalized in Cali sooner than later. The politicians are hungry for money out there and it's the largest cash crop they have. It outranks grapes for cash produced but the pols aren't getting any taxes off of it.
Now that they have run the state in the ground they are suddenly seeing new opportunities for revenue..

Oh, and one more thing. Lets just say hypothetically that it was legalized. Do employers continue to ban use by its employees? That could actually create even more unemployement.

    you guys wanna know something?

    here is a little history...

Prohibition, the criminalization of Alcohol AND Marijuana.

Before Prohibition there were no laws about Marijuana.

Marijuana was popular among black people, therefore, the Conspirators of this country kept regulations against it when they legalized alcohol.

This can be argued in a few ways, but the way many take this, is that the reason in doing so, was to have an excuse, if you will, to arrest black people.

Now all you people in here arguing, GIVE UP YOUR ALCOHOL then maybe you will be on the same playing feild. Such bullshit that you guys spew about how pot is bad, and meanwhile you guys are getting hammered at the bar disrespecting women, beating people up, and worst of all, KILLING PEOPLE ON THE WAY HOME.

get real people, you are not holier than me.

a little intense but..... meh... x2

after reading all the pros and cons people have posted (and on the phelps thread) I still see no reason why it shouldn't be legalized and regulated just like alcohol

have to be a certain age to have it
if you get caught driving with it your fucked
have licensed distributors so you know you aren't getting anything that is laced with something (actually safer)
you can grow really great stuff without lacing it with anything
it will be like alcohol... some states its illegal to sell everclear they will come up with some sort of THC scale and some places will have limits
an argument that alcohol is a gateway drug is just as easily made... people try all sorts of stuff when drunk.... like when people say "i only smoke cigs when i drink"

i really haven't seen a good argument as to why pot shouldn't be legalized if alcohol still is

there are a lot of industries that stand to loose money if pot/hemp is legalized and have a TON of money to make sure it doesn't happen
